Heart breaking. Not to make this about me, but this is the high school I went to. 

I'm sure all but one or two of these kids weren't even involved in the initial matter. It's sincerely disturbing how many were mentally and emotionally capable of just getting a piece of the victim because there was an opportunity to demonstrate such brutal and inhuman violence.

"four cases were automatically transferred to adult criminal court because the defendants are 16 or 17, the newspaper reported.

The remaining defendants, between 13 and 15, will face certification hearings in family court, where a judge will determine if they also will be tried as adults"

 

I assume there's some sort of law that 15 or younger need a judge review before trying as an adult? 

What's with teens in Vegas and videoing their crimes? Just a few months ago there was that pair of idiots who stole a car and played human pinball while streaming live on social media

I don’t think it’s just a Vegas thing. Kids (and people in general to some extent) want to post things that get views and likes. Fights get views and likes.

It's crazy these days what ppl do and film to try and get views. I read about this occurrence a couple months ago, where a prankster youtuber harasses strangers and films it. He ends up harassing the wrong guy who pulls out a gun and shoots him.

Yeah this isn't an isolated incident, it's happening everywhere. The students in my district created their own Instagram page dedicated to fight videos and it has close to 2k followers and every day there are more fights being added between students. I personally had to break up two fights at my school this year already and we haven't had an incident in almost three years. These kids make it pretty damn easy to idenfity who the culprits are because they film in 4k and all their faces are easy to pick out.

They killed that poor guy, he was an ex police officer. While it's not isolated to Vegas I can't wait for my son to get out of there

Same with mine. And when the district gets one Instagram page taken down, another one pops up to replace it a day later. The worst kind of whack-a-mole for dumb kids. But like you said, at least they're all dumb enough to film themselves in 4K committing crimes. Sure makes deniability way harder

8 to 10 people?  They should all be tried as adults for jumping one kid with that many people.  Honestly wouldn't mind a max allowable sentence for jumping attacks.  Call it the 'coward escalator".  F these kids, and continues to show terrible parenting's consequence on others.
