Apples and Oranges. Anybody who wins like he did at Kentucky can win in the state of Texas. Aggies won't continue shooting themselves in the foot with Stoops. I think it's a solid hire, but I would of tried Leipold. That guy can win with anybody.

I guess we won't ever know.  Supposedly staying at UK

Houston head coach Dana Holgorsen entered this fall having won 20 games over the previous two seasons, but he still got fired Sunday after the Cougars went 4-8 in their first season in a new conference, dropping five of their last six games. The worst-kept secret in the Big 12 is how volatile the UH leadership is when it comes to football decisions. The expectations are really high, and the patience afforded coaches has never been realistic. Ask Tony Levine or Major Applewhite — or now Holgorsen, who will at least walk away with a boatload of money.

It gives me a headache just trying to think down to your level

I think it will take Houston and Cincy the longest to adjust to P5 football out of the new teams in the B12, if they adjust at all. Pretty sad when Houston has great recruiting in their back yard.

Houston will start from scratch again in 2024. It takes any new coach 3-4 years to get footing with a new team.  And another round to adjust to P5 ball.

Basketball will be just fine but it sounds like a shitty athletic department overall.

Really,  Aggy went with Elko outta Duke?  No surprise there if this is a presser.  Elko was at Aggy before.  You bet your donuts to dollars that Elko will get an incentive-based contract and no $1b guarantee like Jimbo.  The A&M Board of Regents will see to that.  Just like the UH Board of Regents willl do with our Newby football HC.  Highly incentive based.  Win based incentives and whatnot.

The next UH football HC will be contracted very unlike the Hoops Sampson family is.  Kelvin and son Kellen are locked up good and tight for a long while.  As they should be.

Elko to A&M.

My Aggy buddies wanted either him or the interim HC.

p.s. re this topic.  Thursday last, Aggy BOR first went with Stoops outta Kentucky.  The Aggy fans wanted nothing to do with Stoops of Kentucky and lit up social media once that was leaked.

Elko is the right choice for Texas A&M, IMO.  He is a very fine DC.  On the OC side of the ball for Texas A&M, they have wonderful, storied Bobby Petrino.

Who knows re Aggy gridiron, one of these days they may actually win the SEC title.  Hope springs eternal.  😎

We will definitely miss him, those are some impressive numbers.

We’ll see, this is the time period where agents get to work and throw their clients names out for leverage and opportunities.

We’ve been through so many coaching searches at unlv that more than half the candidates mentioned were never seriously considered.

If he does leave it would be of the norm for him and his brief stay at UNLV.
It will probably change somewhat once he gets his HC gig. But still his longest stay of 13 years in coaching over 12 schools is 1 time at Howard when he was there for 2 seasons. Always looking to find ways to the next level. New year, new school

Not only that.   He played at two JCs prior to going to Tulsa, where he was going to the draft after his junior year until an injury disrupted that.   And IIRC he changed high schools at least.  He is a nomad.

Bye Bye, Best of luck! !! May the MWC survive, and prosper
