Anyone following the events and media coverage/reports/editorials/etc. of the past 7 months would have to be purposely cocooned in their own thoughts to be unaware of the tsunami of criticisms of Biden and his administration from multiple sides regarding Gaza ongoing and the initial Hamas attack.

Why it matters: It is the first time since the Oct. 7 attack that the U.S. has stopped a weapons shipment intended for the Israeli military.

Im old enough to remember when withholding congressionally approved aid was an impeachable offense.

I'm older and can't recall articles of impeachment for that.  I mean, it was part of something once, but not the whole thing.

Sticking feathers up your butt does not make you a chicken. Withholding money from an act of Congress to demand an investigation or to demand how another nation prosecutes a war is the same thing.

Well, chickens don't have feathers up their butt so maybe try a different analogy?  On the latter, details kind of matter.  43 w/held stuff for Israel on a related Israel matter.  There is latitude for executive power in foreign relations including aid. 

Just take the L and move on (did I do that rite MWCborders?).

I don’t care what people twisting themselves in knots think over something that is obviously the same “abuse of power” that was such a foreign policy concern when the guy they didn’t vote for does it. Sure I didn’t say Biden was without criticism.  But no one has criticized Biden for what the cartoonist lampoons and you repeat.   Should Biden stop sending offensive weapons and running interference at the UN.  Worth discussing.

Thanks for posting.  I tend to be opposed to the Imperial Presidency but in the case of withholding aide I think withholding aide, as long as it is not a quid quo pro for personal benefit, is absolutely within Presidential powers.

As mentioned prez has broad ex powers re: foreign affairs.   I mean, last CDoW was on 12/08/1941 yet many wars and military actions have occurred.  Sec. 503 has import, but also broader constitutional law.
