Why on earth would a terrorist organization hold an election for a country they run, when they have crazy support levels from the people?

Hamas is in power because the people want them to be.  Period.  They are only victims of Hamas as much as they want themselves to be.

Terrorists are community heroes.  Parties celebrating the monsters of the attack were happening all over Gaza.  Block parties.  Fathers and mothers bragging about their sons rapping and torturing little girls.  Because the people of Palestine have fully embraced Hamas.  When 70% of your country is pro terrorist...that's a mandate

Hamas remained in power with no elections with the blessing of the people of Palestine because they believe overwhelmingly in their terrorist message....

 

And the numbers say that despite all this, the IDF is changing what it means to be an occupying force fighting a legitimate enemy.  Millions of lives may be saved in the future thanks to the tactics they have shown are able to mitigate civilian casualties.
