And a genocide is not taking place.  No army has ever taken such care to minimize civilian deaths.  Nobody to blame for Hamas using schools, hospitals, places of worship and homes other than those living in Palestine....

If you believe the Hamas death figures, which again you should not, the civilian to militant death ratio is 1:1.8, the lowest in history in which we have such figures, despite civilian infrastructure being intertwined in urban areas in a way no army has ever faced before.  No army has ever worked to prevent civilian casualties as hard as the IDF has in Gaza.  I know people hate hearing that but that's what the numbers and logistics say.

I'm not a big fan of Jon Stewart or anyone that makes a career by editing and manipulating videos and soundbites in order to embarrass their conceived foes. However, this is one of Stewart's better takes.

Setting aside Netanyahu outright saying a two state solution is off the table, the main issue with a two state solution is the illegal West Bank settlements. It’s hard to see Palestine just letting Israel essentially get legal title to a bunch of illegally seized land. On the other hand, giving Palestine their rightful legal borders seems like a recipe for ethnic cleansing and a lot of dead Israelis.

I don’t think a two state solution is realistic anymore.

I never did. Unfortunately.

I love how Stewart plays a 5 second clip of the ruling government official saying they’re gonna kill all the Jews and so many are all “well, it’s complicated.”

We’re all sitting in the dugout. Thinking we should pitch. How you gonna throw a shutout when all you do is bitch.

This is exactly the point.  All the little terrorists on college campus protesting for a ceasefire are just retarded.  There is not a country on earth that would agree to a cease fire in their position.  You are demanding Israel to agree to a cease fire that Hamas has sworn they will violate.  Realllllly? Hamas gives zero +++++s for dead Palestinian kids (and neither did Palestinian parents when they allowed Hamas into their homes, schools, hospitals, places of worship and held block parties after the massacre.)

The only thing people should be holding protests for is demanding the unconditional surrender of Hamas.

It’s not about a ceasefire. It’s about the Jews to stop shooting back.

my perception.

  • Jews were treated poorly (obviously) which led to founding and gathering of Israel
  • Israel treated people who were living there poorly, taking over their land (like US did to Indians)
  • Palestinians do not have "true" Israel citizenship, are not allowed to vote in Israel elections, have full Israel passports, and are not allowed true self governance -- which would mean having things like their own army and trade
  • if you oppress people long enough then they get angry and radicalized, to respond to tyranny
  • radicalized palestinian terrorists killed and murdered israelis
  • Israel has responded by killing Palestinians 10 fold, blowing up their houses, and starving them out

Ceasefire is from people like me that cannot bear to see suffering and death, on any sides.   I just want to see killing stopped and find a solution.   I think Palestinians deserve true citizenship and freedom (inalienable rights)

they clearly cannot live togethor

Jews aren't going anywhere

come up with a plan to help the Palestinians immigrate to new countries as refugees seeking assylum -- USA, Canada, Russia, Egypt, Iran, Germany.   This would be protested by right and left wing but it is the only solution.

Palestinians lost their country and need a new place to settle where they will be free -- like the Jews of old

Boots on the ground in support of…Hamas. This should go well.

For those who think Jews are a monolith international cabal all coordinating to achieve some evil shared goal.  We have the Jewish Senate Majority Leader:

Schumer calls for new election in Israel and sharply criticizes Netanyahu | CNN Politics

And the Jewish popular former presidential candidate and senator:

Sen. Bernie Sanders: "No more money to Netanyahu's war machine to kill Palestinian children" - CBS News

It looks like these Senators are very capable of putting America and Human Rights before Israel, its right-wing leader, and religion.

Yes, they sided with the terrorists who began the war in order to command the population to change their leaders. Y’all can show your ass some more. It was always apparent. Lmfao.

Huh?  Now you are putting words in Sanders and Schumer's mouths?  How can you justify your comments?

Obama's 1967 borders seems to be the most reasonable for everyone.  Those fundamentalist right-wing religious fanatics on all sides 3 sides are the problem.

Schumer has power leverage, but the general view is wider held including in the other party and by many Jewish Americans.  That's not a secret.  It's a conundrum within a conundrum.  Bibi gone would probably be good, but I don't see that leading to the end of the never ending conflict and troubles.
