I mean, see my response above. If we're gonna play the counterfactual history game, we should go back to the causes of the causes.

I would have more sympathy for the good faith question if the the state of Israel didn't immediately send spokesmen to international media sources to tell the world that we should absolve them of all their actions after Oct. 7 because of what happened. So, they didn't ask the question you are asking. Why should I ask it for them?

But, again, IMO what you shouldn't do after a brutal attack that killed 1,400 people is to brutally attack and kill 16,000 and counting and demand that the entire international community (and God) absolve you of it. That is the opposite of the answer, IMO.

Still deflecting. Answer the question. What should Israel’s course of action been after October 7. If nothing, just say it.

I said in the first place it's a pointless question, and explained why it is pointless and its answers are meaningless at this point except to justify violence.

What they should have done from the beginning is give an occupied people their rights.

What they shouldn't have done is kill 20,000 people.

If you think that's deflection, that's on you.

Planning is an exercise of power, and in a modern state much real power is suffused with boredom. The agents of planning are usually boring; the planning process is boring; the implementation of plans is always boring. In a democracy boredom works for bureaucracies and corporations as smell works for skunk. It keeps danger away. Power does not have to be exercised behind the scenes. It can be open. The audience is asleep. The modern world is forged amidst our inattention.

You sound like a politician. C’mon, show some moxie, answer the question. What are you afraid of?

No, I sound like a historian. We don't do counterfactuals, cuz they're dumb.

But it doesn't take much education to compare the numbers... you shouldn't do 20,000 bad bad things in response to 1400 bad things. At least in my opinion.

How about just one bad thing? Would that be ok?

I dunno, you tell me. I mean, answer your own question if you think it should be answered.

How many Palestinian children need to die to avenge the blood of one Israeli child? Adults?

You can’t reason with fanatics. I’d do exactly what the Israelis are doing. You want to kill our people, we’re going to kill 20 for every one that you killed. And that’s pretty much what the US did in response to 9/11 except it was a lot more than 20:1.

I'm guessing Jews are a little edgy after constantly being exiled throughout the world, including from the land some claim they're occupying. Six million of them were exterminated in 12 years. 25% in three months. And who knows how many Jews have lost their lives in conflicts since 1948, including on October 7th?

But hey, it wasn't the Palestinians.

Jeebus!!

We’re all sitting in the dugout. Thinking we should pitch. How you gonna throw a shutout when all you do is bitch.

Does that include the Palestinian Christian’s and a Catholic Church’s Israel has attacked?

When a war breaks out innocent people dying has always been an unfortunate byproduct of the fighting. You seem to forget who initiated this conflict. These people would still be alive if Hamas didn’t attack Israel.

How far back do you go? You know the saying about history repeating itself. However, it doesn't seem like humans have learned anything from it. Cleanse and repeat.

How far back? Easy answer, late 1800s.
