Should be a nice venue, but it does seem small. I'd like to see it at 14k. At any rate, good for UNR getting a brand new arena for free! Here's hoping they can turn this into upgrading the football facilities.

It's 4.4 miles from the UNR Bookstore to the Grand Sierra Resort

So UNLV plays closer to home than UNR !

Unless I'm not seeing it right, the new tower will be in the parking area between the existing building and the current driving range. The bowling alley should still remain in the current building. It also looks like they're adding a new parking garage near the new tower where they currently have ballroom/banquet space.

There are no 800lb gorillas in the NHL and if pro sports should have learned ANYTHING from that retarded asshat that runs the  Chargers, it's that San Diego and LA are entirely separate markets.

Nobody said he would own anything.  He's the developer.   He won't even own the building when he's done, the city will.

But if you look behind the tower where the bowling alley is, it's showing the new parking garage.
