But if you look behind the tower where the bowling alley is, it's showing the new parking garage.

This is just a guess, but I know the bowling alley is on the 2nd floor and I think the area I circled in red is where it is. It looks like garage will take over where current event space and the Spa is located on the first floor.

The bowling alley is on the southeast side of the GSR, right where the depicted parking garage and probably part of the new tower are located in that image. The circled area is probably part of the convention space. Hopefully relocating the bowling alley is part of the plan. That’s where almost all of my best memories in that building were made.

Edit: hmm, just google earthed it. According to the place location overlay, the bowling center is where you’ve circled it. My internal compass always had it where I described it above. Could be that google earth isn’t accurate, but it’s probably me.

I remember when all we used to hear from UNLV fans was the cringe Fertitta money! Fertitta money! Fertitta money!  I think everyone can be rest assured that Nevada fans aren’t going to be copying that with Meruelo money! Meruelo money! Meruelo money!

Oh, now you’re going to be laconic.

It is definitely the easiest way to access the bowling alley by parking in the current driving range lot and accessing through the SE entrance, but then you have to walk a little bit to get to it in the area I circled. I would be shocked that they would remove the alley as it is very popular for guests and residents. Their arcade definitely needs an upgrade though because the last time I went with my kids a lot of the games were out of service.

Jumbo-Visma won all three grand tours and are going to gobble up Soudal-Quikstep. So unless Ineos starts shelling out cash everything is kaput for a few years. Tadej is our only hope.

New stadium is cool. I just don’t know where people will park.

We’re all sitting in the dugout. Thinking we should pitch. How you gonna throw a shutout when all you do is bitch.

Now apply this terse summary of ‘23 to your ‘24 grand tour threads and we’ll both have made progress in life and freed up time to spend with our loved ones (or to catch pigs on the Truckee!). From a few weeks ago, and only that long because this retired guy has had a hell month+ of actual work descend on his ass…

Parking is a concern. I hope it’s not going to cost 10-20 bones per game to pull into the GSR on top of the season tix price. There won’t be a nearby neighborhood offering stealth parking opportunities to those willing to walk an extra step or three. Maybe Walmart will offer discount parking rates across the street.

Sir, at this point my only valuable contributions to the board are gifs, jokes, and in depth analysis of an obscure sport which few in America, let alone here, really care about.

That is a nice fish. Fly?

As far as you branding point @UNLV2001.  From that image, I can’t tell if the oversized Nevada script & log is permanent signage/art or a lighting effect.

Does anybody know?

Wont know for sure about signage until it's built.  But at the announcement Meruelo mentioned it wouldn't have happened without President Sandoval.  The AD, BB coaches, cheerleaders & mascots were at the announcement so makes 1 believe Nevada does have some cachet in the project.

That seems on par with my contributions of periodically laughing at Connie, for overlong descriptions of apple varieties and likely future dives into the intricacies of grafting dormant scionwood vs budding in all its forms, and the occasional not very humble brag on big fish I catch on the Truckee (yes, on a fly, a small nymph, to be more precise—took me 15 minutes to land that toad. The picture fails to show how thick that fish was. Also, I’m not a small human, that is a 21.5” fish. I caught a second brown of similar size and girth that day that took just as long to land—couldn’t move them at all with the fairly light tippet I was fishing and had to chase them up and down the river.)

Too many other things to worry about.  I don't think the U has made a final decision on what do with the dated but usable facility..  That was my point.

The issue with that housing location is it's really close to the flight path of the airport. So the residents will need to get use to the low aircraft flying right above them.

It's not under the flight path for RNO but adjacent to.  Subsidized housing is rarely in prime locations but they do get Truckee river frontage, which is special.
