Boise State vs SDSU

We’ll see as he’s still a sophomore. He’s got to get a lot better reading defenses, decision making, and accuracy and I think he will. He’s showing progress this season. Letting Strachan play and recruiting a couple of more good WRs would be a big help. That and the secondary should be priorities in the portal for next year.

I mean, he is an above 60% passer on the season if we had a NORMAL drop rate.   Just like NCAA average at catching balls that hit their hands.  I have never seen a Boise WR group this bad at catching footballs that hit their +++++ing hands.  It is INSANE.

Green played well this game.  He is the best athlete on the field in every game he plays, that includes the UW game, and it rally is not that close either.  He ran more aggressively this game and SDSU had no prayer of keeping him from 8+ yards every time he did.  We need more of that.  He is too big, fast, strong and agile to sit in the pocket in the shotgun all game.

It is why the Boise deal needs to stay in place.  We were the only school with a +++++ing brain and demanded ESPN be a partner, but in the name of being a good conference partner we decided to not use our veto so your dumb ass schools, Wyoming leading the charge, could sign with CBS because something something something.  Fact is, lead by the front range schools, the MWC has a long history of not wanting to partner with ESPN for whatever reason.

Cool.  So anyway, I don't like CBS Sports as a partner.

Just confirms what we could see. Lousy attendance for what should have been a big game:

"It all added up to 34-31 loss for SDSU before an announced crowd of 23,374 (turnstile attendance was 14,356) at Snapdragon Stadium."

I blame your school for not being a better leader within the conference and building the consensus within the conference to move away from CBS Sports.

We tried.  We even threatened to go to court over it.

The new WAC additions had a long healthy relationship with ESPN that saw them promoting us and securing better bowl games and even OOC opponents.  For whatever reason, the original MWC schools have a long history of not wanting to be partners with ESPN and would not let their animosity towards them go, so here we are.

I agree.  Boise should have stuck to their veto and not allowed the old MWC school idiotic presidents to screw us and the conference for what amounts to a rounding error in our AD budgets.

Green is a fine athlete I do not think he is much more athletic than Mayden though, Remember Mayden played safety few games and was excellent. Both good runners and OK passers, But running QB's take a beating.

There is no doubt Boise has slipped from its peak years but that always happens because you can't keep the same line of coaches together forever. it's  what happened to San Diego State after Coryell and Gilbert. However, you guys are smart enough not to slip that low. This year your a good G5 team not great, pretty good. San Diego State is an average team below average this year because mostly of the inability to recruit transfers for weak spots in the offensive line and defensive line. There's no doubt as long as they have Coach Hoke they're not going to be contenders for anything.

Excuse the weird bold , a paste that does not change?

For all the shit unlv takes about attendance we had 21k for the vandy game. For the record San Diego is still a bigger town than Vegas.

The MWC went with CBS originally because they had bought our rights from Comcast.  The Boise/ESPN deal was a carve out because Boise wasn't in the conference when the deal was made.  Nowadays, CBS and Fox pay us more than ESPN was willing to.  That's why we don't want to partner with ESPN, because they lowball in every negotiation.

The fanbase is over it.  Too many years of inept offense, too many template "We have to do better's", too many years of no promotion or marketing and too many years of our admins figuring they can keep behaving this way towards the fans and we will follow along.  And even our local rag finds any reason to dogpile.  Self-created perfect storm of destruction.

I was going to fly down and spend thousands for homecoming vs USU.  But if the University isn't doing what is good for the Alums and fans, it doesn't appear to be worth it.  That and it is elk season and I was going to trim my days to do it.  I got better shit to do than deal with it.

"announced crowd of 23,374 (turnstile attendance was 14,356)"

SDSU had 9,000 tickets sold/distributed that were not used according to the turnstile. If those were purchased but not used the AD may be looking at short-term revenue instead of what it means about future sales.

Then about 10,000 tickets not even distributed/sold, .

I don't know SDSU fan game-day walk-up sales but a few thousand of that large remaining amount undistributed on game day should be a last-minute student flash give away one or two hours before a game. Heck even pay some people to walk through the dorms one or two hours before kickoff to give away tickets. Better than an empty stadium and builds student involvement for the future.

But let’s remember, nobody mans or pays attention to the turnstiles there. Anyone can simply walk into a SUDS football game, no ticket necessary, and go hang out under the concourses where the cameras can’t pick up footage.

As a neutral observer (full disclosure I do like SDSU unless they are playing WYO). Boise fans should look at this as an escape. Jeanty and 2 fumbles (the 2nd from friendly fire) kept BSU in this game. Greene can run but I’m not seeing much development as a passer. I still think you have your best WR playing QB but maybe he will get better. If your coaches keep trying to make him a pocket passer instead of part of a dynamic running game it will continue to stifle the potential of your offense. You have a good running game right now but it could be great if defenses have to defend Greene on the outside and Jeanty on the inside on every play. Just my thoughts.

Very much agree. Green could replace #17 Strahan who at least last night failed to use his height to any advantage. Not a good route runner at all. Maybe that kid is a sub but he was in on about half the snaps.

Part of the Boise deal is that Boise gets veto rights on any t.v. that includes the sell of their home games.  We were going to veto the fox deal in favor of ESPN and absolutely refused to be on CBSSN.  The Fox deal was "meeting in the middle" so to speak with Boise.

If Boise had their way we would be with ESPN/Fox not CBSN/Fox.

This conference needs to listen to Boise.  We always know what is best for you.

News flash: it's because they don't pay as much, duh. They want you to take "exposure". This isn't rocket surgery.
