Yes. Who wouldn’t?

Even when a broadcast mentions the streak like last night, they also added praise for how much better the play is and optimism going forward. So it’s not just a one sided dig.

What do you think happens when a kid gets recruited, anyway? It’s a sales pitch. A coach gets to put it in perspective and make the case where the program is going. And like I said, the streak will end soon anyway. If it doesn’t and we don’t win a game this year, then Wilson should be fired anyway.

And you think a recruit is going have that high on the list of concerns after a visit? We’ll win at least one game before the season ends, anyway. Obsessing and worrying about this is ridiculous.

Recruits don't like to play for losing schools but only message board and pundits care about a long losing streak? I am starting to really worry about you. Schools use that shit all the time when recruiting  why do you want to play there? They only won four games in two years, come here and we have been fighting for a championship for the last couple of years, not getting embarrassed on TV etc etc etc

Blah, blah, blah, blah. You could be doing fairly well as a program and some coaches of opposing schools will always have smack that sounds devastating against their rivals. Recruits hear it all the time and are used to it.

The better the recruit, the more NIL $ becomes top of the list. Recruits that know they won’t be playing in the NFL pay a lot more attention to the fit of the school itself. Recruits need to see a new coach making progress in re-building a program. If they see it, there’s advantages to jumping aboard. More opportunity for playing time and exposure is a big advantage of joining a building program. If Wilson isn’t clearly building the program, he should be replaced.

You seem to think the mentality of the very elite recruits applies all the way down. It doesn’t. And recruits aren’t commodities. Every single one is different and prioritizes their list of wants differently.

I watched the Kansas game last week against Illinois, and they were scary good. Sure, Illinois isn’t that good, but still. A lot of Big 12 pundits think they’re an upper half Big 12 team this year. We got really lucky they were having a bad night. Kansas was only 4 spots out of the AP Top 25, so they might jump in on Monday.

Our defense did pretty well for where we are rebuilding, but we need to make a change at OC. Sage and McClure need to go. Since we’re aggressively ramping up our FB budget, we need to go out and get a really good experienced OC and let him choose his co-OC, OL coach or whatever. Two really experienced successful coaches that can teach Taua and other coaches what they know.

Sage was a mega small time hire. He has zero OC experience. All he’s ever been is a WR/TE coach. That’s it. Not even a co-OC or OC at a lower level than UCLA.

Join the club. SDSU's Ryan Lindley similarly had zero OC experience. Mega small-time hires typify THE Mountain West Conference and it's disgusting and embarrassing. Maybe UNR can't possibly allocate more money to its football coaching staff but SDSU has sold enough tickets to Snapdragon Stadium for Aztec football at exorbitant prices while also being about to become the home of an MLS franchise and not having to share the proceeds with the City of SD like it used to do with Qualcomm Stadium that Hoke should be shown the door as soon as he fails to get his team bowl eligible.

Well, we’re pretty much paying this $300k to be our OC which is pretty much what Boise pays.

You've failed to mention recruits who have masochistic tendencies.

We had what seemed to be a solid 2023 recruiting class on a 10 game losing streak, to put it in perspective. If we can’t pull out 3 or 4 wins this year, then Wilson should lose his job, IMHO.

If I were the AD, I wouldn’t give Wilson a number of games he has to win to stay, but I’d tell him there has to be solid improvement over last year. I’d tell him if he’s not sure his OC is going to get him there, he better be looking for someone available to replace him if he isn’t. Even hiring just a temp guy like Rolo to get us through the season might work. He’d have to pretty much call our playbook with little adjustments added every week.
