Kansas @ Nevada

Kansas isn't the cellar dweller it once was and the Pack played well. Disappointing that they couldn't get the win. I'm still not sold on Wilson, though, who doesn't exude leadership and the game reminded me a bit of when the Aztecs played before Touchdown Jesus under Chuck "Fourth and" Long. Most fans were bigly down on Chuck and I don't recall the exact score but they were a huge underdog abut I always thought that except for a bad call when our RB allegedly fumbled the ball into their end zone for a touchback when replay seemed to show his knee was down at the one yard line, SDSU might have won. Rumor had it Chuck slept in his office that week watching film until the team flew to South Bend and I wondered whether playing so well might inspire the team to turn things around. However, it wasn't to be as that loss seemed to be just one more game toward the players losing faith in that staff.

Anyway, good luck the rest of the way, Pack fans. I've always liked he Reno area.

We weren’t a disgrace like last week. The D played pretty well. This horizontal offense has got to go. Our guys look slight like they can’t break tackles. Not expecting any great turnaround. I do think we made Kansas look worse than they are.

We’re all sitting in the dugout. Thinking we should pitch. How you gonna throw a shutout when all you do is bitch.

It was a messy game for Kansas that was for sure, and both teams seemed to have butterfingers with the ball, amazed out of those fumbles only one switched sides.

We saw life from the team which is an improvement from last week so that fire got lit, but I think there are more questions with the offense this week with regards to the play calling, we see Lewis can throw downfield so is he scared to do it consistently or is that the coaches with the plays? To me there still appeared to be some confusion from the players with calls coming in from the sidelines. But that last drive that was just mindboggling on those plays it was like waiving the white flag I mean if those were the plays you were going to run then just let the clock run out then.

At least there was life but 13 in a row....................I don't know what to think about Texas St next week, but if we don't win there, I could see this losing streak up to 17 before the New Mexico game, and if the losing streak gets that long, I don't know how you can keep Wilson around honestly.

I watched the Kansas game last week against Illinois, and they were scary good. Sure, Illinois isn’t that good, but still. A lot of Big 12 pundits think they’re an upper half Big 12 team this year. We got really lucky they were having a bad night. Kansas was only 4 spots out of the AP Top 25, so they might jump in on Monday.

Our defense did pretty well for where we are rebuilding, but we need to make a change at OC. Sage and McClure need to go. Since we’re aggressively ramping up our FB budget, we need to go out and get a really good experienced OC and let him choose his co-OC, OL coach or whatever. Two really experienced successful coaches that can teach Taua and other coaches what they know.

Sage was a mega small time hire. He has zero OC experience. All he’s ever been is a WR/TE coach. That’s it. Not even a co-OC or OC at a lower level than UCLA.

I wouldn’t worry about the losing streak. We just need to keep improving each week and win 3 or 4 games the rest of the way. Sure, this OOC schedule turned out to be tough. When this schedule was done, a decent Nevada team goes 3-1. Now they’re all tough.

With exception of the Fresno game, the way teams vary from week to week, we could have a chance to win any of the remaining games, and not win any of the remaining games. So we’ll just have to take it week to week. Cfb is soooo hard to predict.

Umm yes you do worry about the losing streak because you can't be on a 17 game losing streak or such and expected to recruit, Wilson is still on the hot seat  but like said the team had life last night which was good to see. The play calling has to get much better, we need to get pressure on the QB, we need to stop wide open throws as well.

When you watch eb and flow of the games, you can pick up patterns on how teams play but injuries are also the toss up.

Obviously losing is not good, but pundits and message boards are the only place stats like that matter. Your season record is what matters season to season. We were 2-10 last year. If one of those wins had happened at the end of the year, would only being on a 3 game losing streak makes it better? We would still be 2-10 last year and 0-3 this year. Really, really stupid to be obsessed with IMHO. Recruits care about where a program is heading, NIL, playing time, exposure when playing, chemistry with coaches and other players, like of the campus, etc.

The longest losing streak in the nation is going to be relentlessly brought up in every broadcast.

And you think a recruit is going have that high on the list of concerns after a visit? We’ll win at least one game before the season ends, anyway. Obsessing and worrying about this is ridiculous.
