son of a gun
Summer Sale is on. Just bought Rome 2 Total War. Very different from OG, but still fun so far.

Rome 2 is probably my favorite of the historical series. Caesar in Gaul, Hannibal at the Gates, and Rise of the Republic are some great DLC campaign packs. If you want a challenge then I recommend Total War: Attila. You're in survival mode for the entire campaign.
Stealthlobo
Going a little retro, if you havent played Portal 1 and 2 yet, they are both on the summer steam sale for $0.99. Two of my favorite games ever.

Stealthlobo
This is my fear with Starfield: https://www.pcgamer.com/starfields-vision-of-the-final-frontier-makes-space-seem-like-a-boring-barren-expanse/ Hopefully this is not the case.
son of a gun
So, while they were all on sale, I also got the Warhammer Total War games. My favorite factions are the Kislev (bear cavalry is real) and the Dwarfs (Dwarfs with guns, cannons, and airships is too cool).

Similar mechanics to Diablo I believe. Had some coworkers talking it up a lot especially with the 2nd one's announcements tonight. It looks huge though, like dauntingly huge.

BulldogBeliever
I'm boycotting everything Blizzard. So no Diablo IV for me.
Stealthlobo
Bought Dave the Diver yesterday and I'm having a blast with it. Nice relaxing game with cool characters and fun SCUBA references. Highly recommend for someone wanting a break from intellectually or physically/skill straining games.

Yeah, scuba has been thoroughly scarred in my book. Not because of video games, but from real life stories of people scuba diving into caves, and never coming out. Mr. Ballin, a youtube channel, tells great, real stories. But a lot of them can easily become nightmare fuel.

It's one of the most liberating relaxing things I've ever done. Being immersed in another world like that is amazing. Cave diving is very dangerous though and I won't do that. However, reef diving, even if it's in the shallows, is so awesome.

When I went to Hawaii for choir in 2005 (my how times have changed in only that long), we were scheduled one day to go out snorkeling around a tour boat. Crystal clear water, beautiful scenery, fish of all shapes, sizes, and colors, and I did enjoy that little bit. But that's as far as I'll ever go with that kind of thing. And probably physically at that (I've literally had too many surgeries since then, and looking at more).

You definitely have to be in a certain physical condition to dive due to intense pressure changes in the body. My girlfriend found a video yesterday of a diver in Egypt who video taped himself dying as he uncontrollably descended to 300+ feet and couldn't fight the pressure to get back up. That's so terrifying for me, being sucked to the bodttom of the sea where you die in pitch blackness...

I get anxiety diving in open water as it is with no reference point and just infinite blue in all directions around you. I need a reef or ship in view as I decend to control that initial vertigo. As well as a water hole in Texas that has claimed numerous lives too. Mr. Ballin really does do his homework. I believe he may even have done that story you mentioned.
