Imo, the MW should hold at 10 full members. Take NDSU as a FB only member. When their AD ramps up their financial commitment  and Facilites they can join as a full member.

No AAC School will pay the hefty exit fee to go to a Conference that pays less.

AAC - $7 mil. 18 mil exit fee.

MW - $4 mil. Likely to stay flat with SDSU departure.

C-USA - $750k Media deal. $3mil exit fee.

Sun Belt - $7 mil through 2031. Unknown exit fees.

Based on that data, only C-USA Schools would want or be able to move to the MW.  NMSU and UTEP perhaps ?

Are any of the mentioned FCS Schools financially capable of moving on up ?

We drop SJSU to even things out. SJSU destroyed half their stadium…they already know they’re destined to FCS

Give it a rest.

What FCS conference would be the best fit for SJSU? They must already be having serious talks with one or two conferences. Realignment is coming.

Give it a rest, Fres-no isn't going anywhere.

My vote is for UTEP. I feel like that school (and city) has a ton of potential. It also gives the MW a foot in the door of Texas.

Only technically.  El Paso is 500+ miles from any of the major cities.  It's 350 miles from Lubbock, for gawd sakes.  Not even in the same time zone as the rest of the state.  It is completely isolated.  It is, however, a good fit in other ways.

It gives me a headache just trying to think down to your level

Since San Diego St is from the West, my suggestion would be Eastern Washington to keep the balance between divisions.

No thank you.  They conducted a study recently to see if moving to DIII was a good option.

Still, there was a reason EWU went through this lengthy process in the first place, which began with hiring the PICTOR Group last year to evaluate Eagles athletics from top to bottom and spit out a recommendation.

The reason Eastern Washington engaged in this family-wide come-to-Jesus meeting was that its current track is unsustainable. If EWU is to remain in FCS, it will have to generate more revenue and/or trim its budget. Probably both. PICTOR said Eastern Washington will need "millions" in additional investment to become a sustainable FCS program.

If you’ve ever been to the EWU campus you’d know this is an absolutely horrid idea.  It’s run down and neglected and financially challenged.  That school is hanging on by their fingernails both athletically and academically.  Almost every other school ever mentioned for possible MWC membership is a better option!

I voted Montanas (Biased) but realistically it would be Texas State, UTEP and then NMSU in that order. I think the AAC schools exit fees make it to costly for them to consider moving to the MWC.

UTEP and NMSU get a lot of play on this board as expansion candidates, just not from the east side of the conference.  Most Mtn. Division fans don't want them.
