Big Ten has already invited Oregon and Washington

Butthurt much re going nowhere?  Fortunately You and I get to settle all of this on gridiron very, very soon.  We trot on over to Boise next year; ya'll return the Solid in Hou the following year.  First time ever We hit up the gridiron (or any sport for that matter).  IF it sells some suds and popcorn and TV ratings re our matchup..., we do it again down slate in future times.  Why wouldn't we? IF it sells, it sells.  If it doesn't, it doesn't.

Meanwhile in our OOC we're slated up with 4 PAC teams OOC homey/homey assuming PAC sticks together and adds Aztecs and Ponies.  Colorado, Utah previously booked.  Washington deal announced.  SMU deal in process.

Scribing of UCF and Houston.   There is this gem.

Come 2024 post Texas & Oklahoma to SEC, I can see these rivalries concluding the regular season final football game:

  • TCU/Baylor

  • West Virginia/Cincy

  • Texas Tech/Oklahoma State

  • Kansas/Kansas State

  • Houston/UCF (for the space city cup)

  • BYU/Iowa State (by default)

p.s.  OOC homey/homey with UNLV too.

Regarding the OT.  B1G did not invite Washington & Oregon; they merely vetted them.  Neither of B1G or ESPN wants to be blamed for the destruction of PAC.  PAC will find a decent media deal one way or another.  However, if it takes San Diego State & SMU to make that all Go, there is a bit of a June 30 deadline for those two squads to announce their departure from their conferences to join up the new PAC media rights deal which occurs July 1, 2024.  PAC will stay intact, count on it.

Why should @halfmanhalfbronco feel butthurt about calling Houston trash? That’s what your school is. Terrible football, overrated, overhyped basketball. Stinky, uneducated fans.

Perhaps the dirtiest, most slimy rotten city in the USA.  So that prompts you to run down your list of OOC? Nobody even knows Houston plays football.

You were one of the clowns that said the 4 corner schools had already signed B12 contracts in June 2022. You and your trashy half brother @Did I hear a WOOSH?

Your meth head uncle @Cougar King was here to talk basketball in March but left very quickly for some reason.  Maybe his meth lab in his trailer caught fire?

Let’s try to have a thoughtful discussion here, so you’re upset that I accurately noted that in the very article you brought up it mentions UCF’s geography being problematic for Houston and any other ‘eastern’ adds to the PAC? This has nothing to do with my affiliation, nor did i attack you in any way or cause an affront.  Dont go boise fan on me here...take the emotion out of it.  You were the last pickup in expansion, don’t go throwing stones in your glass house either man.  If you’re going to hate UCF, hate them for your poor performances against them on the field, not because you don’t like facts. And don’t act like your fan base being bored at UCF is our problem.  It sounded like a home game last time we played you in Houston.  We are excitement, you can’t fill your stadium or create a strong home field advantage.  Reel it in some.

I would say both are already are middling MWC programs even with PAC $$. They've both been smacked around by MWC teams in recent years.

Smacked around? WSU is the weakest of the two but OSU was a T17 team last year that beat both Boise and Fresno. They will be a T25 team again this year. Jonathan Smith is no joke.

If they went to the MWC with a smaller budget that would definitely hurt, so I agree there.

Um, so you’re saying that the Big-12 would pick SDSU and UNLV over two of Utah, CU, ASU and UA? They only need 4 to get to 16. They’re not going to be the Big-18. LOL.

If the Pac gets  around $25mil per School, they hold together and probably don't invite SDSU or SMU. The money doesn't work for 12

This scenario then becomes likely

The mystery seven in the ACC is intriguing.  Clemson and FSU are the two most obvious and clearly can't wait to punch their ticket to the SEC.  UNC and UVA would likely get snapped up by the B1G.  For the other three (I'm going to say Miami, Duke for sure, and I don't know who after that), where do they end up? Do VaTech and/or NCSU think that their state legislatures will force them to be paired with their more desirable schools.  Not sure the B1G will go for either non-aau school.  The latter three could very well end up giving the big four their get out of jail free card, yet finding themselves coming out of the bathroom with nothing but their dicks in their hands.

Or is it just a play to get unequal revenue sharing, which still wouldn't get the first four anywhere near B1G/SEC money.

@Coog kev, Houston is trash.  Your football program is trash, your city is the worst in the first world.  There is nobody, and I mean nobody on this board who would trade places with your school if it meant being located in +++++ing Houston.....

Brett McMurphy leaked the schools: "Clemson, FSU, Miami, UNC, NC State, Virginia & Virginia Tech are “The Magnificent 7” ACC schools, sources told @ActionNetworkHQ

For some schools it could be the second time backstabbing their conference. (The old Big East being the conference that was stabbed)

They need 10 to start breaking things(see Conference Realignment thread).

There are some horrendous takes in this thread. There will be minor moves, and that's it. Nobody from the P12 is going to the B12. SDSU will go to P12, maybe with SMU. Maybe B12 looks for another G5 from the west.  I would be shocked if it was Fresno.  I think when everything shakes out, it will be rather boring. Until the TV contracts come up again.

Your administration is the reason why our basketball league is bleeding out currently. If you didn't insist on San Jose being in the MWC, so you guys would have someone that votes similar to SDSU, every team in the MWC wouldn't have to play 2 games vs. a team with a 330 RPI ranking EVERY season.

VaTech and NCSU are playing a bold game thinking their legislatures could join them at the hip with UVA and UNC.  Neither P2 conference would want/need a second school in the state, and in addition, the B1G is going to turn its nose up over AAU membership.  The only avenue that I see this making sense for them is if the B12 is ready to go coast to coast.

i dont think that's what's going to happen.  Usually, such a power play involves one school leaving the other in the dust.  That's not necessarily the case here.  When the time comes, all 4 schools are probably going to find lucrative landing spots - UVa and UNC to the Big 10, VT and NC St to the SEC.  doubt any politican is going to fight such a scenario.

I certainly think they'd be happy with the SEC.  The question is would the SEC want the secondary school for each state.  Plus, Clemson, FSU and probably Miami would be bigger priorities on their list, which probably leaves one of the two out in the cold (assuming that the end game for the B1G and SEC is 20).

i don't think FSU and Miami will both end up in the SEC...not with Florida already there.  And the idea that VT is secondary is arguable.  And, culturally, its a perfect fit.

I have made this point in the Pac-12 TV Deal thread that used to be about realignment, but the reason why I don’t think UO/UW will go anywhere right now is that there are too many ACC schools that are just better expansion candidates for the B1G. Looking at those 7 schools, UO/UW beat, what? Va Tech and NC State? Do they beat out Georgia Tech? When you factor in GA Tech and ND, why would the B1G box themselves in by taking the at BEST 5th and 6th best expansion options before the ACC schools become available? That would just ensure the SEC “wins” the next round of realignment.

Can the watered down B12 really offer more to Louisville than the ACC?

If I remember correctly the Big12 has a clause if they add P5 teams they get more money. Why there was more talk on them targetting the 4 Corners rather then SDSU.

Louisville is in pure "take us B12" desperation mode.  The B1G wouldn't wipe its ass with Louisville.  SEC has little to no interest and little went out the door as soon as Kentucky spoke up.  Honestly, it makes a ton of sense for the B12.  You get a real regional "Ohio River Rivalry" going with WVU and Cincy and maybe even Pitt depending how things shake out.  The one thing that Louisville doesn't want to happen is that the ACC implodes around them and they show up hat-in-hand to the American looking to be P6.

Agree. Everything is getting rehashed again. But just point me to where the Houston fans and Woosh are at.

I love having “conversations” with those fellas.
