It’s Official: Oakland A’s Are Moving To Las Vegas

Yeah it’s heart breaking that the Chargers left. I won’t be a Chargers fan until they come back. I grew up a Rams fan, and it really broke my heart that the bitch moved them to St. Louis, and wasn’t a fan until they came back. I knew they’d someday come back, and the Chargers will too.

I'm glad that LA got the Rams back but also feel bad for the St Louis Rams fans that they built for 20 plus years.  Let's hope the Chargers come back too but without spanos as the owner.

Sucks for any city that looses a team as we develop ties to a sports team in our city and when they leave it just rips your heart out.

F*** spanos

A’s will be on the Las Vegas Strip at the absolute best location! Tropicana and LV Blvd.

Cant wait to watch the Yankees, Cubs, Red Sox, and Dodgers headline the World Famous Las Vegas Strip!

Too bad they’re losing out on the development around it, that’s what makes the new parks special.  Love visiting the Battery in Atlanta.

I am sure Ballys will make a spectacular development around it. I expect to see MGM announce they are making major changes across the street at Excalibur/Luxor also. It will be a great stadium with the best location.

UNLV needs to plan a big time development behind MGM Grand on the land the university owns. Should team up with Mark Davis to build a new basketball arena there.

National Finals Rodeo likely moves to this new baseball stadium on the strip with 30,000 seats. Will be really fun for NFR.

Sports teams are there to make money. I wasn't about to give welfare to the Spanos family so they could cash in on the work of regular San Diegans while they offer very little to the city. If they can get a better deal somewhere else good for them.

How many locations are the Athletic ownership entering binding deals with? Jesus. They leak so many of their plans and it always falls apart.

This ownership is different than Foley and Davis, they just operate differently and I don’t think it’s a particularly good ownership group. They’ve handled this move pretty bad, imo and it’s a clear cash grab. People should call their reps and tell them NO public funding.

Yep. Foley, incidentally, is exactly the kind of owner every fan should hope for.

Well at least they haven’t pulled a Trump yet and guaranteed that Oakland will pay for everything.

Fingers crossed! Bally’s corp is in financial trouble.  Their rating was downgraded to Negative over the winter due to significant debt and posted nearly 500m in losses in the previous announcement. Obviously their media arm isn’t doing well either and they’re encountering major issues on their new corp deals in NJ and their Chicago development is dead in the water.  IDK.

It's official. The A's are horrible at everything, aren't interested in winning baseball, and dick around with everyone and everything. Las Vegas would be better served to be patient and get a better organization.

The Oakland Athletics have reached an agreement to put their new ballpark on part of the site of the current Tropicana property along the Las Vegas Strip.

Looks like they have an agreement for the current Tropicana site (SE corner of Tropicana and the Blvd).

Was the earlier announcement about the site on the other side of I-15 not an "agreement"?

The optics of changing stadium sites a couple weeks after announcing a stadium site seems... very A's
