Trump Arrest Thread

I wonder if he's been told that Georgia is next. This is the same type of thing he was spewing in the weeks leading up to the leak that he was likely to be indicted by the Manhattan DA.

That was a bigly filing to quash a subpoena and prevent future ones... I am guessing he is setting up for for more filings to come since much ado was made about Trump's posts which don't seem particularly relevant to this filing... But I skimmed it and focused on what they are asking for...

Here is the ask:

"WHEREFORE, Plaintiff asks this Court to enter judgment in his favor and to provide the following relief:

a. A declaratory judgment that the subpoena served on Mr. Pomerantz is invalid, unconstitutional, ultra vires, and/or unenforceable;

b. A permanent injunction, preliminary injunction, and temporary restraining order enjoining any enforcement of the subpoena served on Mr. Pomerantz and enjoining Mr. Pomerantz’s compliance with the subpoena;

c. In the event Chairman Jordan or the Committee serves subpoenas on the District Attorney himself or any of his current or former employees or officials, a declaratory judgment that those subpoenas are invalid, unconstitutional, ultra vires, and/or unenforceable as well as a permanent and preliminary injunction enjoining enforcement of any such subpoena;

d. Plaintiff’s reasonable costs and expenses, including attorneys’ fees; and

e. For such other and further relief as this Court determines proper."

It gets to the issue of State's sovereignty. A court would do well to hear this. Hopefully that opinion is wrong.

This is a touchy area.........states rights are a thing, but overriding federal laws have to have some impact or we will have 50 little kingdoms

Granted, Jordan's aim is to gum up any legal action against their dear cult leader

But this issue before the court (Trump's indictment that has Jordan's panties bunched) isn't specifically a Federal Law. It is a state law. The state has sovereignty or we not longer have a federation of states and may not even have state governments. The proper venue to oversee state law is Federal Court, not Congress. The proper venue to oversee the conduct of state or local elected officials is the state (or DOJ), not the US Congress.

Bragg is correct that Congress is exceeding its mandate here. This was a good legal action to file.

I agree - The charges against trump are local state charges ..........so federal oversight by congress should be off the table

The Georgia case should be state level

The federal special prosecutor investigation is the federal level

trump also faces the state level civil case that is about to start
