Yet my cheese is perfectly aged... Still, SOS was a big problem with BSU's credibility for a long time.  The fiesta bowl was entertaining and the end took lots of skill and luck, but I don't think it's god's gift to football.

If you want to talk about lucky, we can talk about TCU's invite to the B12...

Boise played 12 single elimination games to get to the Fiesta Bowl.

And still played in a meaningless Exhibition for a Participation Trophy.

SDSU played for a Natty.

Unlike SDSU, Boise actually won their game.

SDSU is gonna be celebrating their 2nd place trophy and banner for years to come. 🤣

Actually played for, and won, two in football.  And before you go off on the fact that it was 1-AA and JC, the recruiting/coaching/facilities, etc. was equal between all the teams competing at that level.  It’s was just as difficult at that level as it is now at the FBS level.

I gave my vote to Boise initially.  David vs Goliath.  SDSU made the title game.  THE TITLE GAME!  SDSU wins this argument, hands down.  Taking nothing away from Boise, that was an epic moment.  They didn't go to the title game.  Yes, more opportunity to do so in BB, but SDSU did it.  Winner.

Hey, SDSU has three national titles in football and two in basketball then.

No, on the morning of the 2010 Iron Bowl, Boise had a path to a natty game if Auburn beat Alabama, and Boise beat Nevada later that night. Alabama made a big comeback and beat Auburn.

So Boise was out of natty contention but would be playing for a Rose Bowl bid. Nevada beat the best Boise team of all time in OT later that night, and Boise got to play at Sam Boyd in the exciting Las Vegas Bowl.

and if they did it against all good teams it would be somewhat comparable :)

Need to scrape off a bit of irony coming from someone who lists themselves as a Gonzaga fan!

JMHO, but SDSU's is more impressive (and made the conference more money!!!)

The most hype thing for me in MWC history is probably Utah murking Alabama. #2 though is most likely SDSU's March run. I would put it ahead of anything else.

I think that is a fair assessment.  Football is bigger, and beating a great Bama football team essentially put Utah on the map.  It is ironic that that and SDSU's run included taking out Bama when they were the heavy favorite.
