It saddens me that two other Aztecs agree with you on this and I sincerely hope you and they will be incorrect.

I've now strongly supported SDSU sports emotionally and financially for 25 years. If you are correct and SDSU will remain in the MWC infinitely, the money I've been donating will go 100% to a WORTHWHILE cause and SDSU can bite me.

Front Rangers win!!

I would say let cooler heads prevail for a minute. This is still a fresh wound.  We rarely make solid decisions when it’s all based on emotion.

He’s been making this threat forever and I actually think it’s pathetic.

Nevarez is an Attorney, graduated from Boalt law school and has a specialty in sports law.   In fact, a side job is as a lecturer on the topic at USF.  So I kind of doubt she is putting her foot in her mouth.

De La Torre and Wicker have handled this situation about as well as Welty handled the WAC debacle.   My understanding from the Fresno board is they tried to use the Big 12 to leverage money from the PAC and pissed the Big 12 off.

For all intents and purposes, Nevarez has never PRACTICED law.

I assume in your fourth sentence you are referring to the so-called Project and I know little about that because it was almost over before it even began and BYU was just as responsible for that farce as your school was.

Nevarez has a law degree.  From Berkeley.  De La Torre does not.

Yep, and we all know that attorneys never get things wrong.Rudy-Giuliani-1-95d6abcbed824b6cb57d332db5a5b762.jpg.09a94687c377bae2f2d7e8ac16fe859e.jpg

It gives me a headache just trying to think down to your level

So according to the emails on3 obtained, Nevarez was in communication with the conference presidents about how to respond to SDSU. There goes the Aztec arguments that she acted on her own.

The article is an interesting read for everyone.

Asking after the fact to keep it confidential does not bode well for those hoping the SDSU president/AD were playing 4D chess.

Chess? It was more like masturbation on the part of SUDS. And that’s coming from someone who was cheering them on with the move up.

Nevarez was an in house attorney for the PAC and a few others.  We have both been around long enough to see CSU lawyers at work.   For the record, I would like to see you in the PAC as it’s good for CA Students.

Nah I was referring to the split process where Welty managed to kill the relationships that matter.

According to the on3 article, Nevarez was working on the conference letters with the MWC's legal counsel Willkie Farr & Gallagher partner Jared Bartie.

Looking at Bartie's background I think I would lean more toward his expertise (especially in sports matters) than the CSU in-house lawyers.

Where TF did you get that idea and why TF does it matter if true?

But let's cut to the chase. Just how many Aztecs do you believe still think that SDSU has the Pac by the balls?

MY position tonight: SDSU will still join the Pac at some point but SDSU's administration now finally gets that it needs the Pac a lot more than they need us.

Too many over at Aztecmesa.

If the PAC decides to expand then I think SDSU has the best chance of any school. The but is that I am not sure the PAC presidents are convinced yet of wanting to expand.

Yeah sadly we know CSU’s in house lawyers aren’t exactly top notch.

1) I want that to be true for a number of reasons

2) don’t forget it’s Cal and Stanford with whom you are dealing and more than one school has been back and forth with them.  It took USC threatening to leave the conference to get the Arizona schools in.  SC is no longer an influence.
