Dogday63
Just to confirm.... if they leave, the basketball credits (money) gets left behind and stays with the remaining MWC? Just like Utah when the MWC was formed. 2 1

It’d be on-brand for SDSU’s luck to make the MWC all this money and not see a dime of it.

Yes, just as SC/UCLA’s credits will remain with the PAC-12 after they leave for the B1G. 1 Quote SMOKE 'EM IF YOU'VE GOT 'EM!

That coupled with loss of MW credits, makes for even more streamlined B-ball spending post Covid. 1 Quote "You are what your record says you are." Nevada Convert
Oregon St. made the Elite 8 a few years ago, and no one cared. SDSU is certainly creating a lot of attention at the moment for doing so. Nevada was one point away from the Elite 8 during the Muss era. We would’ve had a VERY beatable Kansas St. in the E8 and a real chance at the Final Four. But we would’ve gotten smoked in the F4 semi. SDSU was a legit Final Four quality team the year of no tourney.

Lol. We have the best combined football basketball record in the nation since 2010 and are on the cusp of a Pac-12 invite. Get rid of your loser mentality. SalinasSpartan
Well if SDSU leaves they are giving the MWC one helluva parting gift. I like sharing a conference with them, but I’ll be happy for them if they get a P5 invite; they earned it.

Aztec1984
SDSU received an offer from the PAC back in October. Obviously, no firm agreement can be made until the PAC's media contract is finalized. SDSU also has an offer from the B12 as well. When USCLA announced they were going to the B1G things changed dramatically with SDSU.

Indeed they can use some positive news. Because Canzano said a Big West member just handed Cal another loss. Not a good look for your future Berkeley Bros. But quickly pulled his name out of consideration similar to Pasternak. It will be interesting to see who they land.

But the one they have now? Doug Knuth would have run circles around Knowlton.
Coog kev
My stuff re this topic. Arizona is playing both sides of the fence re potential craptastic PAC media rights deal v. jumper to XII. What is more obvious is this. Once Texas & Oklahoma announced their Elevator Lift to SEC, the Big12 knew it needed to expand and evolve to not only survive but to flourish within reason. Hence BYU, Cincy, UCF, and Houston announced/added way BEFORE the new media rights deal with ESPN & Fox was negotiated, which turned out to be fairly dandy for all. PAC has done nothing like this at all. USC and UCLA are gone. Where is the PAC invite for SMU and SDSU? Are the media rights negotiations that terrible? I have read that ESPN has bailed and now it's just Amazon/Apple. Tomato/Potato. West Coast Window/West Coast Basement streaming only. The newby media rights contract XII has a careful clause in it, favourable for expansion. Welcome, San Diego State to the Big12. Bring Arizona along too if they are up for it. SMU can backfill PAC matters. Highland Park and Berkeley are just wonderful buds to be had together. lols. 1
