I saw lots of FREE shows at the OAT back in the day with AS/SDSU hook-up. ¿Are they still bringing top-notch show through that venue, or are all the newer pro-venues stealing shows that used to be on campus? YUP...this is the first time I've see the glass dome. Reminds me of the pyramid added outside of the Louver in Paris...haha. Still quite a good number of decent artists, but not the A-list names, typically. Looking at the current schedule doesn't bring any new big names, but Matchbox Twenty is going there. It still gets used for Greek Life events, and I went to a few shows there as well. Great venue, especially at night.

Great venue, especially at night. Probably my favorite music venue. Acoustics are superb with the amphitheater backed up onto the vertical face of the library. Saw so many concerts there over the years. Saw Toots and the Maytals there in about ‘77. Eurythmics in ‘85. I was last there a few years ago for Santana. 1 Quote Thay Haif Said: Quhat Say Thay? Nevada Convert
So the Final 4 in Houston is over, and it just reinforces the simple fact that some people have to go to Houston and have a good time. But as hard as they try, most leave very disappointed.

The OAT had great acoustics for the several concerts I went to - mostly for free, as I worked for Domino's during college and we had a pizza-by-the-slice booth. Had a cool boss that would always let my girlfriend and I go watch the show once it started and nobody wanted pizza anymore. But the best experience acoustics-wise that I've had in San Diego was at the Starlight Bowl in Balboa Park - with the only drawback being the occasional jet flying overhead on the way to Lindbergh Field. Probably the best concert I've ever attended was early-90's Allman Bros at the Starlight. Beautiful sunset, followed by Dickey Betts, Warren Haynes, and co shredding with some awesome southern blues licks on stage. I think Greg Allman's voice at that time was just right for the band.
