College Athletics is dead as we know it.

Well guys it's been fun! With all this realignment going around there's no longer going to be some stability. Guess I'll stop watching once the big ten and sec take over everything.

Cable is dead, but college athletics is still alive.

Southern Cal is going to love going to Iowa City to play a volleyball match.

Cuz Pullman is such a great trip.

Every conference has their good destinations, and their bad.  This argument is universally dumb, and always has been.

The louder someone claims to know something, the less they generally know.

The OP is correct.

The G5 will be a D League for the P5.

The best Teaching and Development Coaches will be at the G5 Level. As soon as a kid shows something he will be in the Portal.

It has been this way forever.  Money has shifted motivations on the collegiate level, but college has always been the farm league for most sports.

There will be three divisions not two. Big and SEC don’t look like the rest.

This is stupid! It goes both ways.

  • The covid exception for multiple transfer years is over.
  • Student Athletes will only be able to transfer once during their career.
  • Some guys will sign to schools because of NIL and will not get the playing time they want and will transfer to strong G5s MWC and American or the new Pac 12 (G5+) schools
  • Some players will not be recruited highly out of HS and go to a G5. If they get a chance later to transfer up some will. This is no different than what NCAA Football has been for decades.
  • The playoff will include the champion from the top 6 conferences ( which include PAC12, MWC or American) depending on the year.
  • SEC and Big 10 will still run the show and be the best conferences. Nothing is changing

Don't let these talking heads manipulate your thinking. If the Big 10 and SEC could go off on their own they would have already done it.

The problem is there are a lot of people who don't go to Big 10 or SEC schools. The only way to keep their interest is to have them think their schools have a chance. That will keep "inclusion" of the G5 and G5+ (PAC12) on the table going foward.

Except over half of them never even get on a new team or just sit the bench at a new team. That will balance itself out.

But then wouldn't a super league form anyway
