You're missing the point.  The issue has been resolved among intelligent fans.  It's still alive among the media.  It harmed CSU..  The university deserves a nod to their credibility.   That was attacked by USU.  Resolution is required IMO.

Yeah, everyone is going to keep talking about this for centuries! Have you learned anything about Twitter reactions and the media? The outrage has already shifted to the next thing to be outraged about. I would probably forget about this incident, but now I will always remember it because of a whiny ass Ram fan.

OK, I'm whiny ass.  I'm fine with that.  My alma mater has been attacked on illegitimate grounds IMO.  We've all been there I suppose.  I'll take a stand.  USU needs to apologize and do something about the liar.  I'm good with moving on.

Well USU ain't apologizing but good on you for moving on. Also, all of us have faced accusations on our alma maters. It's nothing new in college sport. I'm sure you have biased negative opinions about Wyo, CU, BYU, etc...I'd bet you'd laugh at one of their fans saying they should sue CSU for hurting their feelings!

Nope.  I can't think of one instance when any one of those schools has done more than just piss me off.  This is different, but I don't expect you to get it.  That's fine.

Got it.  The Collegian reported a rumor.  It's a student run newspaper and has a reputation of running a little lean on verifying their stories.  The first sign that this ain't legit might be when they report that some Scott Garrand guy who,  by virtue of his job had headphones on, was the first to report it.  Are you too stupid to understand that someone who can't hear probably shouldn't be the first to report what he heard?  Well, actually, yes you are, but that's OK.  We welcome halfwits and rocket surgeons on this board.

As somebody who spent ages 24-28 being an NA sponsor and working with groups to rehabilitate the homeless, addicted or formerly incarcerated I don't find that very clever.

Headbutt is being a butthead.  "CSU should sue" is such a dumb take.  I stayed out of this thread.  I have listened to it over and over now and it seems clear to me there is a combination of the last name and "Russia" with "Russia" being obviously more clear in a few second window.

Best thing that could happen for the reputation of CSU. I know we’d all like to get audio experts to clean up this audio and have it in the nightly news for the next bunch of months. Maybe even get a bunch of those students under oath. Would that satisfy you. I’m all for it. CSU admin office is open in a few minutes so hustle over there and get the process going. Truth will out.

 

But of course now the story goes how a university would rather just blindly admit to a lie than to fight for the truth. That seems counter to everything they would and should stand for especially when their reputation is at stake.
