Because, when an opponent shoots a foul shot in Moby, the student section chant's their name while they're shooting in an attempt to distract them.  A pretty common practice.

How about definitive evidence showing that it happened.  You know, innocent until proven guilty.  The allegation came from a radio honk wearing earphones.  He couldn't have heard the guy sitting behind him.

I'm surprised that CSU hasn't already sued.  Hopefully, they're just putting their case together.

Universities apologize first, investigate late.  See BYU.

Your point would be valid if Ashworth and Shulga also hadn’t heard “Russia” as well- hence Shulgas statement.

Did they?  USU's players are listening to opposing fans while they're balling?  I mean they're better than ours, obviously, but that would be strange coaching.

I've listened to several recordings and was in the arena, I haven't heard russia yet.  I could certainly be wrong but I suspect I'm not.  Overall, it's trivial until some radio honk want's to go dishonest and play the victim card.  It's been an unnecessary and unwarranted attack on CSU's reputation.  I'd really love to see a lawsuit requiring the whiners to prove their allegations, but CSU admin doesn't have the stones to do that unfortunately.

You’re being a bit obtuse. Players don’t hear what opposing fans chant? It was chanted during a free throw. Ashworth and the other players were standing RIGHT there. Not during the course of game action. Captive audience. Of course they’re going to hear a chant like that, especially with the game being effectively over. 
 

Also, I know said radio honk personally, he is not one to lie about anything. He believes he heard Russia being chanted.

Said radio honk had earphones on.  No way in hell he could have heard anything from the guy sitting behind him, especially something so clearly vague that people who were in the crowd without headphones can't verify.  He's full of shit.  I'll stand by that.  I was there.  He's lying.
