sdsuphilip4
Utah State and Nevada reenter tier 1 for me after big wins. Tier 1: 1. Boise State- Took care of a decent air force team on the road, it wasn’t pretty but hey most road games aren’t. Long term concern with health of Shaver/Smith. Najee is a very solid role guy but they really can’t afford to lose Shaver for awhile. 2. SDSU- Tough road loss where the defense let them down. In league play SDSU has the best offensive rating and the third best defense, but well below boise in defense. 3. New Mexico- You can argue for really either of utah state/nevada over them. Spectrum is a really tough place to play. New Mexico has only 1 game left they will be a underdog in (at boise). 4. Nevada- Big win for nevada as their offense tore apart San Diego State at home. If not for unlv loss i’d have them at 3. 5. Utah State- Utah State has won all their home games and lost decisively to 3 of the top 4 on road. They get a break as they miss New Mexico on the road, any chances of a 5 bid league went up todag. Tier 2- Respectable 6. San Jose State- On bye 7. UNLV- Controlled from beginning to end the game against Colorado State on road. Some progress made Tier 3- Maybe a year away from being good 8. Air Force- Going through a tough stretch and now have nevada on the road but they are super young and could take considerable jump next year if the youngsters comeback. Tier 4- It’s very ugly 9. Colorado State- Most disappointing team in the conference hands down, Wyoming has been without their best player and have had other injuries. Colorado state has just been bad and have shown zero interest in defense 10. Wyoming- Smashed fresno at home 11. Fresno- It’s only a matter of when hutson gets let go, not if

OrediggerPoke
The team with the worst conference record is 2-8. They are ranked too damn high.

Rebels18
all i know is if you're looking for some easy cash in March, I'd parlay another clean sweep of the MWC in the Big Dance. 0-4

Someone Else
Not sure how to rank them but here is my prediction. BSU & UNM tie for conference championship with 4 losses. UNM wins the conference tourney. No idea who will be left holding the bag (NIT bag) between SDSU, Nev, & Utah st .
roughrider
Always thought the champ would have 4-5 losses this year. Too balanced at the top. I'd hate to predict the tourney champ. It could be any of the top 5 who get on a roll in the last 2 games.

Well coached teams have ups and downs but generally improve over the course of the season.

Thing about defensive minded coaches is that they get their guys to commit to D but once the losses start to pile up, they start to lose the team and the effort level drops. These guys want to win games. Be a part of the conference conversation. Hutson would make a solid defensive coordinator on a top 25 team. Pardon my ignorance, but do CBB teams have a defensive coordinator role for assistants?

In your scenario here UNM would need to go undefeated in their final 8 conference games. That isn't going to happen. I seriously doubt that any MWC team is going to go 8-0 to finish the regular season. I'd be fairly surprised if any team goes better than 6-2 during that final stretch. I saw that Caeser's sportsbook has SDSU by 7.5. they know something because it should be less than that. My guess is one of them is a no show and the other is less that 100%. If they knew both were out the line would be double digits.
