That was a hard fought battle. Fantastic effort by the Rebels!

Anyone notice all the coaches are dressed in suits tonight?

LR dressed but hasn't seen the court.

Interested to see how they come out in the 2nd half, need way more from Keshon...

Coaches vs cancer thing, suits and sneakers..

EJ Harkless scored a game-high 18 points and Justin Webster added a season-high 17 as the UNLV men's basketball team (14-7 overall, 3-6 Mountain West) defeated UNR 68-62 Saturday night at the Thomas & Mack Center.

The game was a part of the Silver State Series presented by America First Credit Union.

Webster made five 3-pointers, while Harkless filled the stat sheet with a season-high-tying and team-high nine rebounds, five assists and two steals.

UNR (16-6, 6-3) was led by Jarod Lucas' 15 points, Kenan Blackshear's 13 and Darrion Williams' 13, while Will Baker had a game-high 10 rebounds.

STAT OF THE GAME: UNLV had 12 fast-break points on the night, while the Wolf Pack had zero.

HOW IT ENDED: UNLV held UNR without a point over the final 3:44. The Runnin' Rebels led by one (63-62) at that point and scored the game's final five points.

BIG CROWD: The announced attendance of 8,734 was UNLV's largest of the season.

QUOTABLE: (On the atmosphere) "There are no words you can put into how great it was to go out there and see that - how important it is. Hopefully everyone had a great time. I know the guys appreciated it and I know we appreciated it as a staff and also as a university. Just going out there and seeing people cheering and seeing people talking, it had that buzz of a rivalry game. There was no doubt that having the crowd get into it the way they did tonight was a huge advantage for us." - UNLV head coach Kevin Kruger.

OTHER NOTES:
- UNLV has now won three straight games against UNR.
- Webster made four 3-pointers in the first half as UNLV led by two at the break, 35-33.
- UNLV led by as many as 10 in the first half.
- UNR shot 5 of 9 on 3-pointers in the first half but only 2 of 8 after halftime.
- UNLV held the Wolf Pack to just 36.4% shooting on the night. The Runnin' Rebels shot 42.9%.
- Victor Iwaukor had a career-high five blocks and Keshon Gilbert had a career-high-tying four steals.
- Shane Nowell played a season-high 23 minutes and scored eight points with five rebounds.
- UNLV had 10 steals, recording double figures in that category for an 11th time this season.
- UNLV forced UNR to commit 19 turnovers
- UNLV had seven blocked shots compared to just one for UNR.
- There were six lead changes and two ties throughout the game.
UNLV has made at least one 3-pointer in a NCAA-record 1,182 straight games.

NEXT FOR THE RUNNIN' REBELS: UNLV will head back out on the road for a game at Colorado State on Tuesday, Jan. 31. The 7 p.m. MT/6 p.m. PT contest will be broadcast on the Mountain West Network.

Meanwhile, ph has trapped himself inside his last UNLV thread of 22-23 season thread, kind of humorous 😀😃

Kind of a niche he has managed to corner...patent pending
