Da fuq happened? Did them getting called out for that announcement or whatever they do on all of their news programs make cable companies drop them or something? Did they over leverage themselves? Weird.

The list of mistakes they made - starting with the price they paid (10 billion) - is impressive.  They started a streaming service, without acquiring the digital rights to most of the teams, pissing off the leagues.  Cord cutting has hurt, but the RSNs even more because the streaming services have been dropping them to cut costs, because RSNs are expensive.  The pandemic hit them hard, too.  No games, no money.

This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

Sinclair is just another “right wing” media outlet.  They peddle lies all day then show a few games to soften their image.  Good riddance, most of these companies are due for huge liable suits.
Alex Jones, was just the first… Fox proper is about to get hit with possibly a multi-billion dollar one.

Let’s hope they separate operations and the sports element remains.

The operations are already separate.  Diamond Sports Group is the entity that owns the RSNs.  DSG is co-owned by Sinclair and Entertainment Studios (Byron Allen's company).  And, as of last month, the DSG board removed Sinclair from any operational control and the company's creditors appointed a new board member to run things.
