I doubt this stuff is ever going away. Power hungry and controlling people gravitate to law enforcement.

Because cop culture is so racist, toxic and psychopathic that black cops feel the need to not only adapt to it but to turn the dial to 11 to prove themselves to their white cop "brothers."  That young black cop may have gone into it with good intentions, but he quickly learns how he needs to act if he's going to keep that cop salary, cop healthcare and cop pension.  And that's the best of them.  Then there's those attracted to the job because they're simply thugs and bullies in the same way that a lot of their white "brothers" are attracted to the job or due to some internalized, deep seated self-loathing of his own people.

Who could have guessed that a police department creating a "Scorpion" squad would turn out poorly? Maybe it's time we take a hard look at all of the cops who roll around with Punisher decals and blue line patches everywhere they go?

Yeah. That was brutal to watch. I can't even imagine how horrible it was to live it. Me deepest condolences to that guy's family. The department at least got on it and fired those murderers. There's a lot more I could say, but these psychopaths will hopefully go to prison, as well as those complicit.

Reports are that some of these guys were hired when Memphis had to lower hiring standards to fill positions a few years ago or so.

It’s a real catch 22. Because of the bad cops and fallout, cops are leaving City police forces in droves and they’re having trouble replacing them, so they’re hiring less mentally and physically qualified people. 

I think the only answer is the good cops need to start turning in the bad cops. Right now the attitude appears to be it’s us against them. Cities may need an anonymous whistle blower program to weed out the bad cops. Even that doesn’t get enforced as the cop that killed Floyd had bad reports in his file. Police unions are also a detriment. 

There’s really no easy solution other than prosecuting those that abuse their power. Like I said in a previous post who would want to get in that profession anyway? Usually military types and someone that can’t make decent money doing something else.
