Why are there more single men out there nowadays?

Men don't think like that bro come on. 🤨

Not all of us, certainly. Probably not even most. But a lot do. Enough to create the phenomenon your post is asking about.

Get gov't out of the way.

Prohibitive fees, statutes, zoning requirements and/or re-zoning requirements, and NIMBY politicians make homebuilders look elsewhere.

Those aren't the politicians being so NIMBY, those are homeowners and businesses bitching.  Most folks in the business of housing in government want to induce development.

ya might want to do some research on homebuilding in this country in the last 70 years. or some research on housing crunches that have been resolved globally in that time frame.

It's simple economics. Government restrictions/zoning/permitting requirements act as a stumbling block that a home builder might choose to overcome or not. It creates an artificial scarcity that would otherwise not exist.

The surprising thing was that this call for deregulation came from a Democratic president whose answer for other government-imposed problems--from expensive health care to failing inner city schools to slow economic growth--is to advocate for more government interference. So what inspired Obama's unusual position?

It might be that the academic literature has by now grown so overwhelming that certain conclusions can't be ignored. There have been dozens of studies in recent decades, from liberal, conservative and non-partisan organizations, arriving at the same verdict: land-use regulations increase housing prices. The footnotes of the White House report linked to several of these studies.

California has some of the highest housing costs in the nation because of how little “marshaling” there is, Dunmoyer said. Land costs are prohibitive, and zoning rules limit much of what can be built. Housing must get approved at the local level, which has ample opportunity for community input. Those communities can then block unpopular projects, such as multi-family or affordable housing. Another culprit: impact fees cities charge to fund infrastructure that can exceed $150,000 a home, some of the highest in the nation.

But liberalism is largely to blame for the homelessness crisis: A contradiction at the core of liberal ideology has precluded Democratic politicians, who run most of the cities where homelessness is most acute, from addressing the issue. Liberals have stated preferences that housing should be affordable, particularly for marginalized groups that have historically been shunted to the peripheries of the housing market. But local politicians seeking to protect the interests of incumbent homeowners spawned a web of regulations, laws, and norms that has made blocking the development of new housing pitifully simple.

who is underwriting over half of all mortgages cv

who subsidizes home ownership, home construction, and gains on primary residences

who is maintaining the infrastructure that makes homes livable

do local level zoning regs, parking requirements, permitting increase home cost? sure

can we "get the government out" without causing a massive crash of housing construction? no. "the government" has been integral to the supply side of housing since the 40s.

So, what I gained from this, is that robe is a masochistic simp for his wife. Which somehow has increased the number of single men.

A guy can just spend 10 minutes on the phone, clear his head, and go about his day.  I am sure there are plenty of BF's and husbands who would love to have that luxury.

I'm talking about the housing crisis. Everyone agrees that onerous government policies/fees/etc are making housing too expensive. Your response is: "No it isn't"

I guess you can say whatever you want.

No, "everyone" doesn't agree that. In fact, it's a multifactored issue and the biggest part of it is, get this, the free market itself. I've written a lot - a lot- on this exact subject on this website. if you want to know, sure, I'll talk about it some more. it gets boring though.

lmao no. my response is 'your single line of "get the government out of housing" as a solution to housing costs, full stop, shows your utter ignorance on the subject.'

Men think that women are whores who are only interested in money, having a home is a demonstration of wealth, housing shortage means fewer men can demonstrate wealth, therefore there are more single men. It’s a stupid argument. The real answer is that a large number of men are emotionally immature man children whom women have finally made the collective choice to stop trying to “fix.” No longer is a woman’s sole purpose to procreate, so their societal options extend well beyond the men in their orbit. As male privilege lessens (though by no means disappears) the men who were duped as boys into believing they were entitled to women’s bodies have no idea how to have a real relationship with a woman (or another man for that matter as male friendships tend to be superficial) and wind up staying single for much longer than they would have otherwise, perhaps permanently.

TLDR: toxic masculinity

Yes and no. Wealth/prestige/power isn't the only thing that matters to women, but it does matter. Women want Converts favorite emoticon. The highly successful guy that is a genuinely good person. Someone who is emotionally connected, has infinite time, and is supportive beyond all reasonable expectations.

Not saying guys don't seek the great white Buffalo as well.

Without those policies, builders would develop wherever and however they want, willy-nilly.

They don't give a shit about zoning issues, healthy communities, or accessible amenities within a community.

Plenty of women are more than willing to work for their own success and/or support a partner while they reach their goals.

Shallowness is a lot more rare than pop culture would have us believe.

Women are not that picky. Just look at yourselves.

We’re all sitting in the dugout. Thinking we should pitch. How you gonna throw a shutout when all you do is bitch.

Smart, funny, beautiful woman: “Fall is my favorite season. The weather, the leaves, going apple picking and decorating; it’s just the best.

Cromagnon Lawlor: “Yeah I like to start watching football at 9am and do that until the MW game ends around midnight. And then do it all again Sunday from 10 until 8:30 at night.”

Her laughing: “And what about the spring”

Me: “I usually concoct a medical emergency in mid March that lets me isolate for days”

Her nervously laughing: “You can’t be serious.”

Me dead serious: “I had my appendix out four years in a row during the Musselman era.”

Her staring in horror

Me: “You’re gonna want to sit down when we talk about July”

We’re all sitting in the dugout. Thinking we should pitch. How you gonna throw a shutout when all you do is bitch.

The society is now female dominated. More college graduates are women. Divorce still highly favors women. Marriage doesn’t provide males the benefits it once did.

Im bias I’ve grown up in a female dominated world. Sex is always given the woman a huge advantage in leverage. Just from my observations it’s usually a woman calling the shots in all relationships. The sooner you accept your fate the happier you will become.

I forced my will once on my wife. She lawyered up and cost me 35k in attorneys fees for the divorce. She then decided I could remarry her when the divorce was finalized.  I’ve been a subservient spouse ever since.

I’m envious of single and gay men. I can only imagine how happy they must be. Lesbian relationships, Well let me just say this there is a reason lesbian are mean nasty people. Gay men are extremely pleasant and happy people.

He is the conservative id personified. If it were an act I'd say its a brilliant piece of performance art.
