Why are there more single men out there nowadays?

Recommended Posts

This is a little off the wall but stay with me.

Anyone else have hires over the pandemic that they didn't meet in person until some time later? My firm did, and we noticed how even though we work together and see people on video meeting platforms regularly it's still really awkward when you meet the first time. Maybe even more so because you've only met the talking head online presentation of them. But now you meet them in person and its even more awkward even though you actually interact with them regularly...what if this is what young people are going through?

The first fully online gens who didn't transition to online life later on, but were born into. And when they meet in person they feel extra awkward because real life is unlike online interactions? Just a thought...if this is the case as they get older I have a feeling it will correct itself. But it may be too late to correct the impact on birth rates.

This is something close to what I heard of a decade ago. Younger millennials and Gen z’s showed fewer facial expressions than older people. It was thought that staring at a screen had dulled their ability to interact in person.

Don’t know if that’s true, but few of them have been taught how to throw a curveball. Can’t expect them to know what to do with a chest-feeding birthing-person if they can’t do that.

We’re all sitting in the dugout. Thinking we should pitch. How you gonna throw a shutout when all you do is bitch.

pitchers are prima donnas.

Remember that every argument you have with someone on MWCboard is actually the continuation of a different argument they had with someone else also on MWCboard.

Judging from my sociopath nieces and nephews, there might be something to this.

Not with these goddamn pitch counts nowadays. There’s not enough time to become a swaggering diva.

Pew Research said in 2021 in a report:

"The economic outcomes of prime-working-age men differ substantially by partnership status. In 2019, 73% of men without a partner were employed, compared with 91% of partnered men. The gap in employment among women, which is more modest, goes in the opposite direction: 77% of single women held a job in 2019, compared with 74% of women with a partner."

"There are stark differences in the living arrangements of partnered and unpartnered prime-working-age adults, particularly among men. Roughly three-in-ten unpartnered men (31%) lived in the home of at least one of their parents in 2019. Among men who were married or cohabiting, only 2% of them resided in the home of their parent(s). Some of the gap reflects that unpartnered men tend to be younger than partnered men. However, even when looking only at unpartnered men ages 40 to 54, a sizable share (20%) lived in their parent(s)’ home."

Women will give you the milk without having to buy the cow. Why buy the cow if you're getting the milk anyway. Not as much commitment is required from the modern woman

Some people prefer women to cows.

Canada just made it illegal for foreigners to buy housing.  Not a bad idea to me.

Hey we agree on something. Maybe big corporations like Blackrock should be banned too

so true bob. women never had premarital sex in *checks sources* 1990. that is surely why *checks sources again* there are so many more, uh, sexless men.

The reason I think men aren't getting laid is because they are too picky and too impatient with women. If sex is the ultimate goal, you can get laid if you're willing to lower your expectations.

Ha ha. This made me laugh! But it's true.

And it cuts both ways! Women are looking for handsome men that are not fat, of a certain age, have to make a certain large salary, of a certain religion, a certain race, other certain characteristics and single. They are cutting their pool down to like <1% of men in society. Tough odds

Give a shit about something other than your narrow interests. Grow up.

More great advice. I have a real nice marriage, but share few hobbies with my wife, and that's OK. We're united on the big things which is most important. And I try to take interest in what she likes and thinks interesting because I love her. Marriage and relationships are interesting and involve compromise.

Doesn't most "dating" nowadays take place online? GD that is so weird to me.

I think there is truth to what I said. Religion is declining precipitously, along with it things like abstinence.

I don’t really buy that this phenomenon you are talking about is related to birth rates. Birth rates have been declining in all countries for about 40 years, this isn’t new. Even the countries with the highest birth rates have been declining during this time.

Is this satire of how somebody being overly “woke” would criticize a policy banning foreign nationals from buying real estate in a country? Because if so, I definitely did LOL, well done.

No, I don't believe the USA should be banning nationals from buying real estate as a general rule.

Of course, there are exceptions.  Lots of them regarding national security but as a rule it's nuts.

Btw, the country that invests the most in US commercial real estate is phucking Canada.

And the top countries for residential real estate in the USA are Mexico and phucking Canada.

This is not good though. We need religion in society. Or else America will become a materialistic wasteland like Mainland China
