I don’t think so.  Any losses to either of the next three teams would not be considered “bad” from a resume’ point of view (at least with the current ratings).

My first impression from this distribution is Air Force is definitely doing their part to help perception of the conference.

156 is damn decent for a Service academy.

The basic formula for Net rankings is this.  As many Q1 and Q2 wins v. Q3 and Q4 losses.  Q3 and Q4 losses hurt much.

For interesting, deeper analytics, hit up Torvik and play with it all.

If I change it to =< Quad 2 by selection, my squad is 3rd behind both Purdue and UConn,  Saint Mary's is 3rd.  UNM is 4th.

Torvik is updated daily, with some fun stuff to do.

Think of the MWC as a closed system with a certain amount of total energy. The amount of total energy is determined by OOC performance. Now that the total energy has been determined (playing OOC teams is done), the closed system can’t lose energy, it can just get redistributed around based on individual team performance playing each other.

If the OOC opponents that you play win or lose in conference they can move your quad wins and loses, right?

The quads of the opponents are not static to the time that you play them?

I’m just talking about the Net Ranking itself. As far as the quad wins and loses that the NCAA dance committee looks at, yes, how the teams you played against in OOC do in their own conference which affects their Net ranking will affect you. The same applies in your own conference.

You are correct.  However, if you keep in mind @Nevada Convert  is speaking in very general terms to better explain a concept, he did a good job of that.  (I can't believe I just wrote that.  I just threw up in my mouth)

A loss by any team to the Dawgs will bring down the Net Rating.

You beat the weak sisters and you gain little, even on the road. But, lose to one of them and you could drop 15 spots in a blink of an eye !

Like I said, this only hurts the Lobos chances at an at-large bid.

The MW will be fortunate to get two teams into the Dance.
