Washington State vs UNLV at MGM Grand Garden

Recommended Posts

Washington St shot lights out almost all game and many of those shots were contested prayers. And they still lost!

Keshon is special, as is our defense. I'm kinda surprised we blew most of a double digit lead with about a minute to go, but did just enough to hold on. Give credit to Wash St they didn't give up.

How can anybody idiot this?  He was far and away the best player on the floor!

I didn't idiot it, you idiot. But you call almost every decent UNLV player a no-doubt NBA player so I hope you didn't jinx him (hence the facepalm). Did it with BHam last year, did it with Juiston and McCoy, and infamously said Ding Dong was about as no doubt an NBA hall of fame as there ever was. Possibly the GOAT.

That was all UNLV D.  20+ TO's and the points off those won the game for UNLV.  That D will travel too once you go to real road games.

Now you’re just putting words in my mouth.  I NEVER said that Ding Dong was a GOAT level NBA player.

Juiston and McCoy would’ve been in the NBA 15 years ago.  In addition, Juiston had one great year and then got injured.

Keshon Gilbert can be, at worst, a Pat Beverly type but with a better jump shot.

UNLV needed to be tested like that before conference play. Wazzu is a good team and they fought well. Good coaching by CKK and the guys for picking up the slack once Parquet went down.

What a quality win! 10-0!

I could be wrong, but I don’t think that Parquet will miss extended time given that he was able to walk off.

Conference is going to be a cage match.

We'll definitely lose some games, but I'm more confident than ever we'll do well.  The MWC isn't exactly known for the toughness of its teams, and as long as this team doesn't get complacent and develop bad habits they should be able to impose their will in a fair share of the games.  Greatly looking forward to seeing what they can do!

Today was a good game for us. We had to face a few challenges with EP going out and WSU shooting really good from outside.

  • I’m really gaining confidence with corrections and adjustments coming from the staff whenever an opponent makes a run.
  • The team plays solid with the lead and knows how to run out the clock.
  • Freethrows shooting at the end of the game has been decent.

When was the last time we could say that?

10 wins heading into the last 2 home OOC games. Good start. 1 week off to get ready for SF. Hoping everything is OK for EP. CKK sounded like it could be something significant.

Historically UNLV has always babied their players until they were near 100 percent. I’d say Parquet will probably be on ice for awhile.
