At one point. I'm pretty sure the T&M held 19,500, give or take. They had to reduce some seating for ADA, I think.

But those games with BYU and the Lobos were fun, always a lot of people there, I miss it.

100% agree. I have no motivation to drive in to town to watch Life Pacific.

Ok, this is fool's gold right now, lol. Again, we're back to the crappy schedule, we haven't played any tough teams, we have no idea where we're actually at right now, and probably won't until NYE. It is nice to see Andy Katz mention UNLV again, though.

I've always seen 18,500 - Remember when the top two or three rows were benches - I know when they changed those to individual seats the capacity was cut down some .............not sure if the following renovations over the years reduced capacity by bits

I'm going with any positive UNLV news on a national basis is good !!

Been awhile since we've gotten to see UNLV & NCAA Tournament where UNLV is IN

I hate the 8-9 seed. Much rather be a 7 or any other seed where can avoid a behemoth in the round of 32.  Hated playing the Jayhawks.

Yes, thank you, it WAS when they eliminated the 3 benches at the top. Those seats were close together, and when they put the chairs in it reduced the capacity by about 1000. I wasn't sure if it was the ADA, but I do think they had to reduce it again somewhat when they put those wheelchair sections in like 104, etc.

Definitely the worst seeds in the tournament, lol. But, we're a long way away from that at this point..

MWC has potential to be a really good BB conference

USU, Wyo, UNM, UNLV, NV, FSU, SDSU have all had rankings in the past - Just need to somehow get a core of teams to get their sh!t together and sustain something - For god's sake if a little backwater Catholic school in the hinterlands of Washington can do it, I would think some MWC programs could at least be consistent winners

I'm not sure why you'd leave Boise off of this list. They have two top 25 finishes in the last 8 years and been to the NCAAs four times in the last 10. They've EASILY been the most consistently good team in the league not named SDSU.

Initially the ADA laws where that you just had to give them a 'space' in the building, so the T&M had them located at those open ends at the concourse level and nowhere else............some lawsuits happened with other arena's over this issue.........and the law was modified to provide seating in every potential locations, upper decks, floor level, etc.........so more modifications were put in place

My whiff........was thinking more in the longer term historical sense & back to the old WAC days when Utah, BYU, Wyo, UNM were all ranked programs

BSU should be included in any list of solid MWC potential

Boise doesn't have the greatest basketball reputation, but much of that is because it's been overshadowed by the football success. Even when they weren't good, they were still a consistent 16, 17, 18 win team.

Leon has really made a huge jump in recruiting. He has some top level talent coming in. I suspect they'll be very good for the next 3 or 4 years, at least.

No reason the BSU program shouldn't be good on a regular basis - I'd say that overall the MWC has 8 programs at least that should be pretty decent on a long term basis ...........This should be a good BB conference overall, just needs to show some consistency & stability by a number of teams .........would be fun seeing 3 to 4 MWC teams ranked any given year

Boise's biggest issue is they are doing more with less. Their basketball budget is in the bottom half of the conference. It's been improving there and if that trend continues for the next couple of years, they'll be in the upper middle in that category.

BSU's positives are a solid coach and a good arena.........probably need to import talent like most MWC programs, but there's good long term potential at BSU - Plus it never hurts if BSU is looking for P5 attention

Yeah, they don't get anything locally. Very few D-1 recruits come out of Idaho, and when they do (high level), they usually go elsewhere. Boise has a top 70 High School recruit this year, but it's highly doubtful he stays in Boise.

Attendance has been much better, so basketball is bringing in more money. The North Endzone football project is the next capital expenditure, but the next one after that will likely go to basketball. That one has the arena adding suites, which will really help with revenue.

There’s no reason why UNLV cannot extend CKK with a very nice contract. Number one, Iowa State paid for Otzelberger’s buyout. Completely covers CKK’s current contract.

Number two, UNLV will probably sniff the postseason. Whether that’s NiT or the Dance, if it’s the latter. Then that is at least an extra 250k a year to add to Krugers contract, win a game or two and that’s 500k-750k annually. Not to mention sponsorship fees will probably increase.

No reason why CKK cannot get a 7-8 year extension in the amount of 13-14 million with large incentives. Zero reason.

Agree. The popular UNLV strategy of saving $100 bucks now at the expense of millions down the road has cost the University tens, if not hundreds of millions over the years. We just have to hope they have finally learned their lesson.

I wasn’t overly impressed with the DLC. Nice basic facility, nothing special. I liked games at the Orleans more. Same basic facility but free parking, multiple places to eat before walking into the game. Easy in and out. I used to like the seats on the rail right over the player tunnel.

We were 10 minutes getting into parking, got there early. Another 20 minutes getting tickets at the ticket office because they didn’t email them as promised. The trip out was a 4 mile detour going the wrong direction. This is just a smaller local multi use facility. Had fun there for 1 game.

I obviously agree the parking and food options at the Orleans are much better and incomparably easier to get in/out simply cuz it's attached to a casino, but disagree about the arena. Not a fan of the interior of the Orleans at all, the scoreboard is old time and is on the wall rather than above the court and just looks like crap IMO. plus the lines of sight are poor from the seats. I love the interior of DLC much better.
