Been thinking of visiting the country for a bit. Anyone been to the land of kangaroos?
No, but some coworkers did and they said the beaches are topless.

If we are strictly talking geography it seems like UCF, WV, and Cincy should be exchanged for UNM, CSU, & SDSU... no?
That would be a solid add in Basketball, at least.

I think the play as far as wsu is concerned is to hold out for calfords inevitable return to the West Coast athletics as that is where they are. The Big 10 schools arent bigger than Calford in the end, perhaps the same, and Calford arent going to remain in a 3rd/4th tier athletics program because they simply have more value than that.
They'll want to rebuild the pac or join the SEC eventually, they'll cause a realignment and WSU should be posturing to be on the right side of that realignment.
Markets are meaningless unless you actually consider it and it's obvious that WSUs market is pretty large. I'm not going to speak on that, be smarter if you disagree.
But the MWC is a worthy consolation prize. What's interesting is the new basketball season coming up, it'll probably be a one and done...so what was the point, I wonder. I guess I will just have to see lol. It has informed my choices though..
Once the witch hunt is over, the pac should be rebuilt and probably by Calford. It might take 5 or 20 years but it doesn't make economical sense to do it this way.
Eventually the NCAA and CFB will have to actually do their jobs in good faith. Good always will out.
None of this matters because it's about a natty and WSU arent there yet. It's only 1 in fb, none in bball, hey and baseball. WSU had probably one of the best running programs too, but idk WSU is trash so idk
Don't ruin sports because of money.
The money in sports will be prorated pretty soon. Given to the medical field and the academic field.
Simply put, academics are more important than sports.
But Calford+4mwc+pac2+2 is what the hope is.
The MWC is a good consolation prize, to have split sports isn't good for the program.
Stop being selfish people. There are more important things than money.
And now that WSU has a med school it's ranking should go back up in the long term. It used to be about 100. Now it's closer to 120. It'll be a top 60 school in a decade or two.
The PNW is good for medicine in general and the population the wsu med school will serve is underserved and so the funding will always be there.
It's still becoming a stronger school despite the national efforts to make it irrelevant.
Cats have 9 lives, remember that.
WSU will NOT be in the SEC (or the top tier whatever it looks like) when all the realignment shakes out. Also, WSU isn’t as valuable as you think it is. After a couple 3-8 seasons, you’ll eventually come around.

Yep. Totally agree.
I am also going to double down on the fact the twins have EVERYTHING to lose here. I am honestly shocked they are being so "pie-in-the-sky".
At this juncture, the MWC is sitting pretty at the top of the G5 in pretty much all sports. In the new era of the "super conferences", it appears that smaller leagues like the WCC are becoming increasingly obsolete.
Meanwhile, the twins administration, coaching staff, and student athletes are bailing as fast as they can. If they try to "wait-and-see" until 2025, there might not be a conference to join with for those two...just sayin.
I think they keep acting like, "Well, at least there is always the MWC." But is that really the case if the MWC starts leaving them far in the dust...particularly in sports like Men's BB -- i.e., where OSU and WSU are not even relevant at this point?
I am not saying it is likely, but it is still at least possible that the conference alignment ship is already sailing on...without WSU and OSU. I mean, look at UCONN and UMASS as great examples of what can happen to your football programs if you play that game too long. And...WSU and OSU Men's BB is hardly UCONN, so there is not that to fall back on either.
I know I am going out of a limb here, but I have been saying it since October...clock is ticking on WSU and OSU and the only ones who fail to see that is them.
I could see WSU getting left behind playing the waiting game because they will have less to offer as time goes on. I think OSU will be attractive to the MW regardless due to their market.

We're planning a week in Costa Rica in June with extended family. I'm thinking of hiring a local cook to come cook for the entire family one night. Anyone ever do this?

This reminds me of a friend I had who took like 9 years to get his undergrad. He would always throw a kegger whenever his financial aide would arrive. LOL.

I don't. The guy down the street gets to address the 15-20 of you why you should vote for so-and-so and when you don't maybe they get pissed. It didn't happen in my case, but I could see it happening...

With all the money we’ve poured into cancer research you’d think we would have a cure by now. Yes, there have been inroads to help fight it, but no cure on the horizon.
Like some of you above a former coworker has been battling stage four cancer for the last two years. Last time I saw him at a Boise State basketball game I gave him the thumbs up and he smiled and said “another day above ground is a good day”. I’ve got to admire his outlook and sense of humor.
There’s a long ways to go still, but it’s important to recognize that there has been a lot of progress too.

This was pretty fascinating to me in the context of how war may have lead to slight technological edges that allowed the European Littoral countries to colonize the world, and the respective impact that has had today.
The constant conflicts of Europe, especially leading up to and post Renaissance created a European culture where war machines, boats, trade kept you in power, kept you alive, your family alive. There was a constant pressure to be militarily superior to your neighbors which in the scheme of the world....are far closer than anywhere else. A tight geographic spot where survival and conflict was in overdrive for centuries. China and the Arab world had a technological edge over Europe for centuries but the lack of direct conflict with peers seems to have stymied them and allowed Europe to gain an edge that would colonize the world.
Is conflict necessary for advancement? Can humanity ever do progress for the sake of advancement and not because advancing faster than those who may do you harm is essential to perceived safety?
I am really stoned
I think it's a bit more basic than that and starts with food and shelter. There's no doubt that war and conflict accelerate technological advancement, but I don't believe it's critical to it. Use the moon landing as an example. There was no conflict (maybe indirect with the eastern bloc), but there was no war and they created a ton of technological advancement.

Appeals hearing on the "I can do anything as president" thing going on. Implied question of the early morning:
"You're saying a president could sell pardons, could sell military secrets, could order SEAL Team 6 to assassinate a political rival," Judge Florence Pan said during one exchange, referring to the elite Navy unit." -- per multiple reports of transcripts.
The Trumper lawyers ostensible arguing unless impeached and convicted, it's all get out of jail free stuff.
It feels like this will be a quick decision and the D.C. trial won't be as delayed as it potentially could be. It doesn't seem like the SCOTUS will take on any appeal, but stay tuned.
So, I guess Biden can order SEAL Team 6 to go assassinate Trump and his entire family and get away with it.

There is definitely a two-tiered justice system. We’ve seen that play out over and over again.
It will be interesting to see how SCOTUS rules on all these lawsuits.
