  1. Boise DL didn't get a good rush there.
  2. Yeah, I'm guessing that Horton pushed KJ out. KJ is a fifth year senior and isn't running 5 yards OOB. Anyway, even if it was a bad call, Boise got away with the replay.
  3. wtf? ref threw the hat on the ground but the play continued. Anyway, I'm not gonna apologize. KJ caught the pass before that.
  4. I would have agreed if Boise fans didn't continually cite comments by Chris Ault from the 80s when discussing why they felt disrespected by him in the period ranging roughly from the 2000s-2010
  5. FS does have a lot of injuries on the OL. Not an excuse, but it's not made up either.
  6. I know there is a mental health issue but this post resonates with me. It isn't just a mental health issue. This default explanation that we use to explain away every mass shooting (by white guys, at least) often misses the mark, masks real dangers, and unnecessarily stigmatizes people that are suffering but understand they can't harm people. Sometimes it boils down to the fact that certain people are evil.
  7. For the sake of clarity, the New Black Panthers aren't the same thing as the Black Panther Party.
  8. Boise will get pressure on mcmariyon imo. Maybe not a ton of sacks, but pressure.
  9. It was surreal and beautiful in the way that multi-car pileups at slow speeds are. UNLV had the ball down to the one, maybe the two yard line late in the game, in prime position to get a garbage time score. The RB got the ball to the right and immediately slammed into the back of his RG for reasons unknown. After he stumbled back for a step or two, I was surprised that he didn't plow ahead and settle for a no-gainer or a loss of one. He regained his bearings and started running backwards and to the left for a good three seconds, where a Fresno LB took him down for a loss of 14-15. I was a bit peeved that our LB didn't hold off on tackling him to see how far back he went.
  10. I will say this. I've never slapped my head harder over an opponent's mistake than I did when your RB ran backwards 14 yards from the 1 yard line.
  11. Yeah after Fresno State's coaching improved, I realized that the biggest effect of injuries on the DL is not that the performance falls off a cliff like it would at, say, QB, but that the new starters may have to play more reps than they're used to. Thus they may be susceptible to fatigue. I think Boise will be ok. I'm curious because FS has had a revolving door at OL since Muti went down and a few other guys are banged up, though some seem to be healing up for the game.
  12. Do you expect Lui, Hatada, and Miles to be back for this game?
  13. Wyoming and Boise just happened to be the best defenses he faced as well. That would more simply explain the phenomenon. Against Boise he was getting hit on every throw.
  14. I think this narrative is largely made up. It's based on an incredibly small sample size.
  15. I don't think they were being criticized for a close game. Everybody recognizes that those happens. Boise's 2006 team left their game against SJSU with a narrow win and went on to beat Oklahoma. UCF is being criticized for giving up 445 yards of offense in the first half. Temple's QB matched his season averages in the first 2.25 quarters of the game. Good teams can win in multiple ways, but I think you could agree that UCF looked a bit hapless on D.
  16. The Lobos were playing virtually out of control against Fresno State this year. I think Davie has completely lost control over his team and may have actually fostered this type of environment.
  17. And he made it in spite of being a MWC product. No superior reputation.
  18. Must have been a surge of internal pressure to make this happen. Loh was collateral damage in all this and I can't help but feel a bit bad for him.
  19. Yeah I thought that Boise was going to be a juggernaut defensively. Perhaps the aberrations that you pointed out will correct themselves over the remainder of the season.
  20. Yup, I'd prefer that FS not constantly set itself up for failure by playing at opponents' stadiums multiple times without a single return game.
  21. I don't think it's Rypien that Broncos fans really need to worry about. It's the defense. It's looked pretty pedestrian this year compared to last. Perhaps I'm wrong, though.
