Turlock is actually pretty cool, their downtown has a lot of cool spots. Modesto isn’t anything great.

I have heard that about Turlock. Was there a couple months ago, but didn’t see downtown. I’ve been surprised that Fresno has a few decent spots. But so much of downtown sucks. Especially by the ball park.

As someone who knows California extremely well, Stockton and Bakersfield is by far the worst in the state.

Yeah. Kind of hard to over state this fact. Modesto, Turlock are up there, but not as big. Fresno has to be in that convo too. Better than Bakersfield, but not by much.

Kenny is a high-character guy who had a lot of success in his career before things got a little stale at Navy.  Comes from a great family that I knew well as a kid (his older brother was my best friend).  I think Kenny can reinvent himself with the right OC and be very successful at SJSU.  Congratulations Spartans, I think this hire is going to be a good fit for your program.

    Hoping for Rolo as OC

We can feed our players breakfast and have enough money left over to water our grass.

The articles you posted stated we do the same. Not sure what the issue is

Pat Hill averaged around 8 wins a season, went to 10 bowl games, and won 4. Brennan never won more than 7 games and was 0-3 in bowl games. You’re an idiot.

I already said Brennan is like Hill. You don’t need to convince anymore

Odd attempt at a jab. SJSU is not like the other two Cal States in the conference. You fan base, your facilities, your half a stadium….you’ll be lucky to end up with Cal Poly in the near future. More likely you’ll go the route of Cal State Northridge.

    So close.

Did you just copy+paste what you read up top, but clearly have no idea what it means? Rocks for brains.

it's funny. I spent the day in Fresno / Clovis yesterday. The chip all of you have on your shoulders is so obvious and unrelenting and comically funny. You lead with this chip when you find out some one is from the Bay or even Monterey. I told a woman I was with that "there are worse places to live than Fresno." I think if she had blinked she would have started crying. She replied "thank you so much for saying that." Sad really, Fulton Street reopened and you all still can't get people downtown.

Don't you live in Tujunga now? You may have actually traded down.

As is, no one is batting an eye or really cares that the computers picked BSU vs UNLV except you losers. Fresno beat the two teams in the championship game, but we understand that you need to have a complete season to get in. You shit the bed vs Boise. Stop crying. You guys are looking pathetic.

    Cope harder

Well the bottom line is despite yesterdays outcome, UNLV had a better overall season than SJSU did and was rewarded for it in the end because of the win/losses. SJSU had the same opportunities as the Rebels did with their non-con schedule and not $hitting the bed against Boise and AF (at home). They have no one to be upset with other than themselves. Remember, coffee is for closers!

you played no one and it shows. You lost.

Know this.. if we get in and you don't, I will not feel one bit bad about it and will not 'apologize' for it. We've had a great season, and one bad game (+ 1 qtr at Fresno, ugh). We lost to a good team today, but overall UNLV has been the better team throughout the season, whether we play in a championship game or not, and certainly even though we lost today. Good luck on getting your petitions, drives, whatever to get rid of the current system, I'll support you in it. But in the meantime, enjoy your rant.

You played no one and were rewarded for it.

Where did you go in L.A.? Much as politicians have poured millions upon millions of taxpayer dollars into upgrading downtown and the area around Staples Center south of City Hall has been improved, the rest of downtown generally still sucks and probably always will. However, although they're overcrowded, Westwood, Santa Monica and Beverly Hills are all lovely. Same for the Hollywood Hills from Sunset Blvd down into THE Valley along Ventura Boulevard from Universal City to the 405 Freeway. (Ventura Boulevard west of the 405 is a great example of waste of urban renewal funds. Homes there in the hills south of the boulevard are very nice but the city let developers build a bunch of high rise officer buildings there so, unlike the east side of the 405, that part of Ventura Blvd now has zero character.)

But to really like L.A., you have to appreciate funky things which have historical value. As examples, I'm a huge rock and history buff but non-locals pretty much have to be to be clued in about such things as where Nirvana recorded Nevermind in a dumpy studio in dumpy Van Nuys (a bunch of other breakout albums were also recorded there), where the stone-exterior house now owned by Rick Rubin is located which was built for a visit by the Duke and Dutchess of Windsor (?) but they never even stayed there when they came to L.A., where the little dumpy club at the corner of Sunset and Crescent Heights which was the scene of the riot about which Steve Stills wrote For What It's Worth used to be, where the house overlooking the Strip where L.A.'s longest running brothel whose madam eventually became Heidi Fleiss whose best client was Charlie Sheen was, etc.

Randy Newman's I Love L.A. epitomizes the ambiguity of our city: "Look at that bum over there, he's down on his knees; look at those women, ain't nothin' like 'em nowhere."

LA is easily one of the best cities. I’m always struck how much energy is there when I visit. Also an insanely cool place for history. Union Station was peak architecture in the US
