I'm sure there will be some saying that but Rice, himself, has been saying UNLV must be a national program and relevant in March. A one or two seed in the NIT isn't the standard he is setting for himself and the program. I think if UNLV's "progress" is an NIT appearance it will be very easy for the administration to fire him and the support for that decision will be overwhelming. No NCAA tournament in 2016 and Rice is fired. Simple as that. That's just my take on the situation, though.
