  1. Dude just because I haven’t watched doesn’t mean I don’t know what it is. I agree with you in that it’s just uninteresting political theatre. Plus it seems like they clap between every phuckin sentence, I would just get impatient watching it. Not for me. But I’m not going to say nobody cares, because that’s just a silly and untrue statement. And I’m not going to say nobody should care because people can care about whatever the hell they want to, that’s their business.
  2. I don’t see how Haley would be the pick. Would probably be whoever Trump picks as his running mate.
  3. Assuming the MAC adds a CUSA school to get to 14, I wonder who they take? I saw MTSU and WKU thrown out, but I wonder if they will consider Delaware? It isn’t too awkward of a geographical fit with UMASS and Buffalo.
  4. @bornontheblue it’s interesting how worked up you get over things you “don’t care about”.
  5. I’m sure scaremongering to push lawmakers to send money is a motivation for headlines like this, especially when targeted at American audiences. But remember, the reality of this situation is just different for European members of NATO. I mean forget Europe, could Russia “conquer” Poland? LMAO…. No. But if you are in charge of Poland that is of little comfort when you know that a failed Russian invasion would still kill a bunch of your civilian citizens and destroy a bunch of buildings and infrastructure. I am not saying countries like Poland should or should not do anything, just saying they are dealing with a much different reality than countries that are not in serious danger of direct attacks, like the U.S., Canada, U.K., etc.
  6. Setting aside Netanyahu outright saying a two state solution is off the table, the main issue with a two state solution is the illegal West Bank settlements. It’s hard to see Palestine just letting Israel essentially get legal title to a bunch of illegally seized land. On the other hand, giving Palestine their rightful legal borders seems like a recipe for ethnic cleansing and a lot of dead Israelis. I don’t think a two state solution is realistic anymore.
  7. Another “uniparty” guy that oddly only has vitriol for the Democrats, shocking!
  8. Yea I read the post, dumbass. My point was that regardless of what an anonymous poster on a message board said, NATO officially sending troops doesn’t appear to be on the table.
  9. Just looking at the headlines posted it says NATO EU countries are considering sending troops, not NATO. Then there is a second article that seems to suggest France specifically is considering it. So, wtf are you talking about?
  10. Well yea, the human body is only capable of so much. The thought that someone burning alive would be capable of doing anything that involves using their brain seems ridiculous. Even sitting still would probably require every part of their brain, as the natural reaction is probably to run aimlessly and/or scream. And it’s not like a motivated person could “train” for the moment in any real way.
  11. I think Israel should just follow the court order that said “don’t do genocide”. But I look at my local paper today and see a headline that they violated the court order, so they seem incapable of that. I find that to be, at the very least, “gross”.
  12. Personally I actually agree with @halfmanhalfbroncoon Ukraine. I do not think them regaining all Ukraine’s territory is a realistic goal and I think creating Ukrainian and Russian corpses for years to try and accomplish what is not accomplishable is not the “right” move. I say this as an American; if European countries want to intervene with boots on the ground that is their right and I have no opinion on that. Now in comparing takes on Ukraine to Israel/Gaza, I understand the general logic of what is a common take on both on here where people want to aid Ukraine while also not wanting to aid Israel in their attack on Gaza. There is a fundamental difference between aiding a sovereign nation in defending their country and aiding a country essentially attacking a section of their own country. The U.S. attacking Mexico would be very different than the U.S. army leveling Puerto Rico. I can logically understand how someone would advocate for both those things. I also actually understand the logic of people like @Nevada Convert. There is a logical consistency to wanting to send a bunch of money and weapons to Ukraine and Israel. What I don’t understand is both being against aid to Ukraine and RABIDLY pro-Palestine genocide like halfman. Buddy is on here lamenting the dead Russian soldiers of an invading army while cheerleading the slaughter of Palestinian civilians. It’s phuckin weird.
  13. I imagine shooting him was more of a humane act to put him out of his misery, as opposed to the ridiculous idea that after lighting himself on fire “step two” was anything other than scream until he dies.
  14. There is an ongoing genocide, just the reality of the situation.
  15. And Chandler Jones didn’t generate shit for the Raiders this year while his weird dumbass counted for millions against the cap. Brian Hoyer threw 42 passes last year and made a couple million dollars. Practice squad players in the NFL can make $1-200k while being inactive for literally every game. That’s the nature of the business.
  16. Right, but the difference is I am being honest about the negative effects my solution entails, and that is many colleges having to drop athletic programs. You are just pretending that a large group of people generating billions of dollars aren’t getting phucked, when they most definitely are.
  17. I never made the claim you are “debunking”. Many colleges will have to drop their sports programs/downgrade their teams to the intramural level.
  18. First, the fact that you quote getting phucked, as if that is somehow debatable, is ridiculous. Setting that aside, the number may be “very small” in relation to student athletes in general, but it certainly is not “very small” in terms of raw numbers. 85 football players and 10 men’s basketball players per school. So if you add up the P4 plus Notre Dame you are talking 68 schools meaning 6,460 athletes. I would also include the 110 Big East basketball players, but if you want to exclude them whatever. Regardless, that is more athletes than the NFL, NBA, MLB, and NHL. Combined. So it is just silly to flippantly dismiss the yes, phucking over, of those thousands of athletes as not a big deal considering how much revenue NCAA football, the CFP, and March Madness generate.
  19. The question is also why should some athletes that generate literal billions get phucked because many schools can’t afford to pay for sports teams? For me, the fact that people view universities dropping sports as a tragedy because of less scholarship opportunities is an indictment on the insane price tag of higher education in the country.
  20. There is an existing infrastructure around campus jobs for students only. And universities aren’t “small businesses”, they are essentially large corporations that already employ a ton of workers, including students.
  21. Yup. There is already a well developed infrastructure around on campus jobs, it can just be extended to student athletes. I’m guessing football would have to have its own union because the revenue generated is orders of magnitude above any other sport. Men’s basketball probably would need its own union as well. The non-revenue sports could probably have one big Union that would be mainly focused on working conditions (hours of practice time, travel arrangements, etc.) Maybe you create certain revenue generating thresholds where if sports make a certain amount of money they “graduate” to having their own unions, since I know there are instances at schools where sports other than football or men’s basketball generate revenue. And when you are talking about the non-revenue generating sports, why not allow them to be part time on-campus jobs where the practice time and game time are considered hours worked for minimum wage? For the lower income students they would get paid through financial aid where it’s untaxed, and students that don’t qualify for this can just file their taxes like anybody else, where they will probably get a small refund. Yea, I know, they already get a free education and blah blah blah. But you know, I got a free education via grants and whatnot, but unlike student athletes I was able to work as well because I still needed money to live. It’s really phuckin hard (if not practically impossible) to work a job while you play a sport. I know with full COL scholarships now this is less of an issue, but paying them would reduce that opportunity loss that still comes with playing a sport.
  22. I don’t really know who “should” take over if Biden kicks the bucket, but as far as who I think actually would… guessing maybe Whitmer? Or the fat rich guy from IL?
  23. Lmao the bloodlust is something to behold. You are doing fantastic work in terms of making Israel’s actions less popular with the dog shit you post. Keep up the good work brother!
  24. Your combination of dumbassness and bloodlust are very persuasive in convincing people there is at least ethnic cleaning going on in Gaza. You really are doing great work here, please keep up these disgusting ghoulish takes.
