  1. Dude I wouldn't be surprised based on the anecdotal data. Apparently, Sazerac's lawsuit alleges RNDC was sitting on allocated stuff from Way Back that often never found its way to retailer's shelves. One whiskeytuber in WA said he's seeing a lot of allocated stuff hitting shelves that RNDC was supposedly sitting on like so many eggs.
  2. You mea the guy who's missed every single leg day ever? Jay Pal. Springy as allF tho and brings a substation worth of energy.
  3. So regarding the Stagg Jr above, in addition to the bottles of batch 9 I was able to get myself and my buddy hooked up with, by the time the dust had settled, he had also scored a bottle of batch 16 and a back-up bottle of 23C for me. Batch 16 is from 2021. So in addition to the new batch (23C) there are cases - plural - of "vintage" Jr out there shipping out to stores at roughly the same time, leaving me wondering if this is part of the fallout from Sazerac's divorce from RNDC.
  4. Don't forget AG, who was HUGE off the bench last year. That being said, the team is putting up some better defensive metrics than last year (e.g., 3.1 blocks per game vs. 3.0 last year, and 24.8 dRPG vs. 24.3 last year), and even though we're giving up another 3 PPG, it was against a much improved MWC and our offense is improved enough that we have a better scoring margin (+8.5 PPG vs. +7.7 last year). And while we lost a lot in Keshad (who's crushing it at UofA) and Nate, I am really impressed with Heide - the last two bigs to get as much PT as a true freshman were Nate and Skylar, so that speaks to his upside, and I can speak to the development of his game over the course of the season. Ditto Elijah, who's really grown into his role as a stretch 4 off the bench. He was the one tasked with defending Wolf Sunday night (tho admittedly this was at least in part to keep LeDee out of foul trouble). I'm not in any way saying we aren't missing a rim protector (we are). But in the words of this year's team, that has forced them to be even more mindful guarding the perimeter because they know they don't have a fail-safe to bail them out.
  5. A year ago no one outside our fan base and this board gave us a shot before we took down Bama faster than a Brand Miller-enabled drive-by. I don't see why we can't repeat the feat against the Flopping Kembas.
  6. You guys beat the ever-luvin' shit out of Creighton. You can take down a Big East mid in their gym. UNLV basketball: Now with twice the Boone and zero indigestion. And a legit PG. tl;dr:
  7. Bummer man. Sorry to hear it. Well, FWIW, I just might be pulling your weight as well as my own.
  8. I'm enjoying combing through older posts in this thread. Retro, your absence form this thread for some time has been noticed... are your drinking days behind you for health reasons? And if not, how is your infinity bottle coming along?
  9. His stat line tells me he's more a SG than a PG, and we need someone to run the point. He did put up 15 on us and Washington and 14 on Cal, so he can score, but can he play D at the level we would need? In other words, DOES HE LIKE THE D?
  10. It's like the first two Rocky movies if Sylvester Stallone just got nut punched a bunch of times after Apollo Creed flopped and got Rocky T'd up.
  11. This will be only the 4th time in NCAA tournament history that the two teams from the preceding year's championship game meet up in the following year's tourney. The last time it happened was when Florida played UCLA in 2007, and before that, it was when UNLV played Duke in the 1991 Final Four. If the Aztecs shoot like they did against Yale and play lockdown D for the full 40, they'll have a puncher's chance. Go Aztecs!
  12. So stoked to see Cade and BJ get in the box score. What a game. Nice to watch without having to sacrifice one of @kalua pig's chickens at the 4:00 timeout.
  13. So a manager of a local establishment with whom I've formed a relationship told me he had put aside a bottle of Stagg Jr from a drop this last week for me to pick up today. I was stoked, as batch 23C has been dropping around town over the last month and I really wanted a back-up bottle. I was also able to get him to hold one for my bourbon sherpa buddy as well. About an hour or so after we had picked up the bottles my buddy calls me and asks if I had a chance to look at the bottle, which I hadn't. When I asked him why, he told me it had "Jr" on the bottle, which meant it wasn't a bottle from 23C, or any of the most recent batches for that matter. When I asked him if he knew which batch, his answer was no, he did not. But it was easy enough to identify from the proof: 131.9. I went out intent on bunkering a bottle of 23C and instead scored a bottle of the epic batch 9. For $54.
  14. Good job Aggies! Way to represent - I'm stoked for you guys.
  15. There's also the fact that my brackets indicate I apparently don't know shit about college hoops.
  16. SDSU opens as 5.5 favorites: The No. 5 San Diego State Aztecs will take on the No. 13 Yale Bulldogs in the Second Round of the 2024 NCAA Tournament on Sunday. This East Region matchup will take place at Veterans Memorial Arena in Spokane, WA, with the tipoff time and network TBD. Yale (23-9) managed to pull off a stunner on Thursday, knocking off No. 4 Auburn in an 78-76 thriller. The Bulldogs were trailing by 10 midway through the second half and had to battle their way back, pulling ahead on a John Poulakidas three with 2:11 left. Leading by two in the final seconds, the game was seemingly headed to overtime when Tigers guard Tre Donaldson stepped to the free throw line with six seconds left. Instead, Donaldson bricked both shots, allowing for Yale to survive and advance. San Diego State (25-10) was able to tough out its first-round matchup on Friday, edging No. 12 UAB in a 69-65 victory to advance. This was a back-and-forth contest deep into the second half and the Aztecs were able to get the edge in the final minute when Jaedon LeDee and Reese Waters buried clutch free throws to put the game away for good. LeDee had a big first-round performance with 32 points and eight rebounds. Link
  17. More like bicycle helmets in my nightmares. And holy fn moly is right. I had Auburn as an automatic in my (now entire throat-f*cked) brackets.
  18. On one hand, stoked. On the other, playing a bunch of white guys in blue/white jerseys makes me a little nervous [checks roster for "Merrill" or "Fredette"]. Can't believe we are one very winnable game away from another S16. Go Aztecs!
  19. Papa Monty and the Bed Shitters sounds like one of those generic rock cover bands you can see downtown on a Thursday for the price of an overcharged beer.
  20. I need the color commentary... without it it's just the sound of me yelling at the TV. Those turnovers would have been slightly more easy to watch tho if my eyes came with dimmers.
  21. Switching over to watch the rest of your guys' game. Haven't seen a lick of it, but I know you guys got the talent to crawl back into this.
