  1. That is no longer true
  2. What if its the only way to kill the Boise side deal?
  3. It is hard not to laugh at depreciating real estate in this era. I believe the schedule is 27 years, right? I would love to see the average value gained(in annualized avg %) in the US on a property purchased around 30 years ago...
  4. It would be even better if AFA went indy with the other 2 academies, the academies get invited to this new division and then the MW backfills with one of ECU/Temple/UAB/TXST. That would be exactly 90 schools for all sports.
  5. Even 50 years ago there were 90 D1 FB teams. They might separate but if they don't at least bring the B12/ACC I think it won't have the pull they expect. If the split is for all sports and not just FB the odds the MW makes it go way up. The MW+P2+Memphis/USF/Tulane/UTSA becomes the best of the rest and the 5th conference. Mostly just canon fodder in FB but competitive in hoops. BIG(18) SEC(16) B12(16) ACC(17) MW(18) + ND. Thats 86 schools and I've always thought the next interaction of D1 would be closer to 80-90 schools than 40 or 50. Perhaps this new division will be more like the MLB than the NFL, where the rich can outspend their competition regularly.
  6. Our greatest strength will be that the conf is in a region mostly devoid of power programs. I don't think the P2/P4 will have much interest in sharing the wealth, but why completely cut off canon fodder in the fastest-growing region in the US? I don't think we make it for sure or anything, I just think the MW is the one G5 that might get consideration because we arent in the B12/ACC/B10/SEC's backyard...meanwhile the AAC and SBC are surrounded. It seems more and more clear the big boys don't like direct comp.
  7. It will. The MW is sitting pretty, compared to the other G5s imo.
  8. He probably thinks making video schedules is super unique and that not every school has done it at some point in the immediate past.
  9. What are you babbling about?
  10. https://x.com/aztecfb/status/1763293170065174659?s=46&t=gQe1OAvM5ukZHrbUuDCYLw
  11. Butler suffers from the yips...thinks too much. Both are streaky and can make up for their shooting defensively with steals and assists. If Byrd was a Jr or Sr I think this team would have more of an aggressive edge that seems missing IMO.
  12. Parrish, Butler, Trammel, and Saunders are driving the average down. Saunders is a sophomore, and I expect his shot to improve with time. However, if Parrish, Butler, and Trammel don't figure it out soon, I doubt we have a shot at anything better than S16. It's in their heads, all 3 have a better career % than their average this season.
  13. I'm surprised there wasn't more footage of the ugly apron football jersey era that hit the MW in the middle 00's.
  14. Yes, because they had 4 schools the Big10 wanted. If the B12 had schools the B10 wanted the B12 would’ve been the one to go bye bye. Is that really so hard to admit?
  15. I have a feeling it's already being used on the sly...plus think about when singers get old. If they license their voice with AI they can keep the cash rolling in even if their voice is a shadow of its former self.
  16. OpenAI ChapGPT subscription using Dall-E Here are the questions I asked it to get the images I shared, in order. create an image of a plantation owner in South Carolina circa 1820 now create an image of an aristocrat in South Carolina circa 1820
  17. I would hate to be in video or image editing right now. That said, I think lawyers, accountants, and other white collar jobs will be impacted, but not as bad as people think. It will create efficiencies but will ultimately still be a tool used by a human. Imagine a good lawyer or accountant leveraging AI to do the work of 5 or even 10 people. I think that is where this is going.
  18. Pretty sure this is rage bait...Dall-E doesnt do this so perhaps its another AI with coding to purposely do this...likely to get a reaction. Here are my results when I ask for a plantation owner and then an aristocrat in the US south circa 1820...
  19. Thank you UNLV and CSU for beating Creighton, and thank you SDSU and Boise for beating St. Mary's
  20. Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but the MW did what is typical upon notification of a departing conference member. You withhold payments and only payout net after penalties... Is that not how all the other conferences have handled this scenario?
  21. I've received replies from 3+ non-MW fans, so I'm pretty sure it's you guys who are mad. How excited are you for the inevitable B12/MW challenge in basketball?
  22. B12 fans in here big mad because, checks notes, a MW fan is MW fanning in a MW board thread. Good stuff ya neck beards.
  23. Yes, let’s move away from discussing how realignment might impact the MW in hoops so a B12 fan can redirect to what they are interested in…hmm.
