Its fun to see the "rivalry" between UNR and UNLV.
Las Vegas is a fun place to visit.
I'd rather live in Reno/Reno area, if I had to choose.
When you pay state taxes, it goes to the state, not to your city or county.
State legislatures, usually dominated by politicians from the most populous areas/cities, decide how state money is spent.
Las Vegas, being a much bigger city, has economies of scale as compared to Reno (humm..this might be too advanced for graduates of either UNR or UNLV to understand ).
My guess is that the Las Vegas area gets far more state money, but Reno gets more per capita.
