I'm no Fresno hater.  Far from it.

It's just a rich irony that Fresno has always seamed to have their hearts ripped out by SJSU, after the Fresno fan crusade of trolling them on MWCboard for seemingly no reason.

Fresno fans +++++ed with Jobu with their constant SJSU trolling.

This is what happens when you +++++ with Jobu.  SJSU has ripped Fresno's heart out every time they thought they had something special going on ever since said trolling.

    Don't +++++ with Jobu.

That shit goes back years, too. Just Google lafo malauulu  everyone.

    Yes.  Lol.

SJSU destroying the hopes and dreams of Fresno is a tradition at this point.  You are only behind Boise in psychological damage done to that program.

And it is totally MWCboard juju....

This is the first time I've ever rooted for them.in conference, too. Wanted our win vs them.to be considered quality by the computers.

Trim the Conference to 10 teams.

Play a round robin schedule in both sports that matter. Zero problems determining seeding.

    Or...

Have 12 teams with divisions. And each division has a winner based on conference schedule that played all other teams in the division. And those two division winners play each other in a final elimination game.

    The system wasn't broken.

Well, that is a key word (or two, lol).. but do you feel that at some point you didn't play very well and got beat, but know you should, or could, have won? Well, that's definitely how we feel about our loss to Fresno, and to some extent, even today. The rebels team and staff came out tentative, and didn't play their best, and yes, credit to the Trojans for part of that. SJSU has definitely been playing well the last half of the season, it sucks that someone will be left out.

Right, but our season was still 1 of the 3 best in the conference. I.cuding yours. And we just beat you. So, in a word, we did win when we should have. And yet, we may not make the ccg over a team we beat despite the fact that that team didn't best the other team.

Mwc shat the bed on this one. Bring back divisions.

    😂

But does this make you feel better? It's only 1 that someone pulled up, but there you go.

I feel great. Sjsu is clearly the best team in the conference right now, and we are going to a bowl.for a second straight year. And we just beat your ass. If we won the ccg, we'd still get jerkoffs saying we didn't deserve it. So whatever.

I've had an issue with taking away divisions since it was announced. I'm not shocked this happened the first year.

    Edit - I can't see the tweet.

Also, in the Big “10”, how often has Penn State been the third best team in the conference but would have been the champion in the other division?  Almost every year recently. That is a downside of these mega conferences of the last couple decades compared to the 8-10 team conferences of old when every team played all the others and it was much more likely to be decided on the field, and not needing pollsters or computers.

And yet, if Penn state had won the ccg no one would have questioned if they were conference Champs. And whomever they played in the ccg ALREADY BEAT THE 2ND BEST TEAM.

How many times.doni have to say it?

But as I said in an earlier post, the two best teams weren't always playing for the championship, that's why they did away with it. The Mountain division fans were pissed off that a West team got in instead of 2 Mountain teams with better records, and head to head wins. Pretty sure there's more than one thread regarding that on this board. Is the current system fair? Not necessarily, but the other way wasn't always either. UNLV screwed it up today, there would have been no controversy had they come out and won. But we're not going to apologize if we make it in, and we might not.

The other way is literally more fair because you get to play everyone in the division. If csu was pissy in 2014 cuz a terrible, awful, no good fresno team won the right to lose by 2 tds to boise in the ccg, csu should have played better in their division.

This system is by definition less fair. These three teams at the top have not all played eC other, so someone is getting out the slide rule to decide who is better. If you have a CCG, and you are doing g that, you as a conference have by definition failed.

Again,  quit defending a system and just say, "yea it's bullshit but there's nothing we cN do about it."

Let me guess, if Boise makes it instead of SJSU, are you going to refer to Boise as unjust occupiers on the CCG field?

If sjsu makes if.over boise, it will be unfair for boise. Said it a few times now.

This is a dumb system. It's one thing to use comouters for a national field that can't all play each other. It's another in your.conference where you can set it up where the 2 best teams will actually play each other at some point.

I think it is better than whatever we are doing with these computer rankings, but there are certainly seasons where one division is clearly stronger than the other, and the best scenario would be the top 2 from the stronger division playing each other. There will be controversy either way. But I do think divisions are better in the long run.

I guess I just disagree that divisions prevent that. If you have the 2 best teams in the division, they play each other.

The example again and again is the 2014 season. And, yes, That God awful, shitty fresno team was maybe the worst division winning team in all.of college.football. I mean, they were +++++ing terrible. And their fans smell bad. And are stupid.

But how would anything for the conference have been significantly different if boise played air force or csu or usu or whomever again in the ccg Instead of crappy, stinky, awful fresno?

I just think if you are gonna have a ccg, the only reasonable way to do it with 12 conference teams is divisions. The best 2 teams will.always play each other no mater what.

You're also smack talking fans who are celebrating their second best season in history after supporting 4 decades of arguably the worst college football program (certainly top 5 worst). They are feeling their oats, despite the results tonight.

We've never participated in a CCG. We can't act like we've been there before.

But I get SJSU gets dumped on more than most here so there is some sensitivity.

Unlv has had a great season. Not trying to detract from that.

I think, tho, fans should be willing to point out if a system is dumb even if it works out in their favor.

So you’re saying having UNLV and SJSU play for the MWCCG shouldn’t happen since they just played this week. All I’m saying is a conference championship should be played by the 2 best teams and in the big 10, those 2 teams are Michigan and Ohio St.

Yes, I am saying that. A division system is the best system if you have more teams than can play each other in a whole season in the conference.

In a division system the 2 best teams will always play each other, whether in division or in the ccg. Pretty simple.

I mean I get smack talking about the game, but smack talking about a perception of support of a league policy we have no control over makes me think @smltwnrckr's liver is having a bad day.

No, I'm sober. I guess the general calling out of all unlv fans was unfair. Just saw more than a few "good game sjsu, we will be in the ccg despite the tie breaker" which is bs.

If somehow sjsu makes it over boise, it's bs too cus they have the tie breaker. It's just a dumbass system.

And, as I said before... jerkoffs on here say we have an asterisk from 2020 despite us clearly being the best team that year. So, I hope at least some on here stop with that kinda nonsense after effing Jeeves picks our champions this year.
