  1. Unspecified "personal health concerns". Speculation is a reoccurrence of the previous issue, which if his recovery is similar to last time he'll skip the bowl game, get an ablation done, take a bit of time to rest, and be back to work. Depending on how quickly he can get in for the ablation he could potentially even be back by the Feb signing day (my guess, nobody else's). I think the last time he "retired" vs took a break because his family and doctors weren't sure how well he would respond to the treatment and didn't want to set him back up for more issues by him going back. This time I think they're better aware of what they're looking at so he's just taking a bit of time vs the university jumping on the coaching carousel.
  2. I think most of us are hoping Hut has a terrible season so he goes away.
  3. Whichever one puts the game in Boise.
  4. Our fans may not be "intelligent" but at least we can find our way to the stadium, unlike the rest of you morons. #2 in total attendance with 119k (with two fewer games so far than #1 SDSU at 128k, and ahead of Wyoming at 116k who also has more home games so far) #1 in average attendance with 39k (3k above #2 BSU, and 16k above Wyoming, clocking in at #6) #2 in % of capacity full at 96% (only behind BSU who exceeds their capacity, with every other school coming in at below 80%) When you get your own stadium then you can talk smack. Until then go back to your seat at the kids table and let the grownups have a conversation.
  5. For future reference, if you add the shift key when pasting (so Ctrl+Shift+V) it'll paste in plain text and end up looking like the above. Same can be accomplished by right-clicking and hitting "Paste as plain text". Carry on!
  6. I'm still of the opinion we need a "City is not a State" conference which includes those teams. It wouldn't make any money but it would at least be the most aptly named.
  7. Because we're a bunch of redneck, sheep-phucking hillbillies. Don't worry, you'll catch on.
  8. So as long as nobody does anything stupid like sending a letter saying we're planning on leaving the conference but need a 30 day extension before we can be sure that it's going to happen then the schools hoping for or that have back-door invites to the nuPAC are still eligible to vote, is my understanding.
  9. After the whole debacle the P12 presidents may vote for GN to be the commissioner.
  10. Unless the PAC tries to force their hand. Right now for scheduling they either need to add a conference member next season or they need to come up with 9 non-conference games.
  11. I didn't actually listen but based on the comments, your guess is as good as theirs.
  12. Don't know if it's related but some guy with a podcast said he has a source (who also told him about USCLA leaving the P12 before it happened) claiming Utah and Colorado have "agreed to leave the Pac12". https://new.reddit.com/r/CFB/comments/11gcilt/david_woods_host_of_podcast_of_champions_reports/
  13. My understanding is they don't have conference-specific exit fees but they have a Grant of Media Rights agreement in place so anybody who jumps ship before that expires loses the money they'd have gotten paid out for their media buyout. USC/UCLA are in the clear because they're not leaving until the current one expires and definitely aren't going to be signing the new one, but anyone else who leaves after signing is going to leave a chunk of money on the table. At this point I'm wondering if someone (or a group of someones) from the university level are sandbagging negotiations to see if an opportunity comes along.
  14. I took a quick look through the 2021-2022 copy of their handbook and didn't see anything specific about how many votes it would take to dissolve the conference. If I understood the rest correctly though it does look like as long as the departing teams notify the conference of their intent to depart but don't actually plan to leave until August 1st, 2024 then they retain their role as a part of the CEO group and can vote on issues like that. The Pac12 require 3/4ths vote on constitutional/bylaw changes for most things so assuming that also applies to dissolution of the conference they'd need nine members to want to dissolve the conference. If every team that has been reported to be speaking to another conference actually departs from the P12 it could happen (USC/UCLA/Oregon/UW to the Big10, ASU/UA/Utah/Colorado to the BigXII) only needing one more vote, at which point either the Big10 or BigXII might invite one of the remaining schools (I could see Stanford to the Big10 in this instance) to kill off the Pac12 entirely.
  15. The system can't support two CSUF football programs.
  16. Nah, let's get REALLY WAC-y and hire Karl Benson! (Seriously though, Kustra probably wouldn't be a bad choice)
  17. "We'll wait to see if one of these teams is good, then decide."

  20. Possibly ignorant question: Is it mandatory that teams play a minimum of 8 conference games, not including a championship game? Or is that just a magic number that everyone settles on? I'm curious what it would look like to play 7 conference games against your division opponents and 5 OOC games.
  21. Smart move to have half the freaking conference playing cross-division games the last week of the season, MW office. Pure genius.
