  1. According to Mark Joe Dooley appears to be the early favorite. That's fine, but I'd prefer the retread route.
  2. James Borrego is a name I'm becoming more and more of a fan of the more I think of it. Just not sure what kind of salary he would command, don't really know what assistants in the NBA make
  3. Lobos have an okay OOC schedule next year, we just won't have the team to do anything with it.
  4. Well ESPN is in on the joke too http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/19051223/craig-neal-fired-new-mexico-men-basketball-head-coach
  5. I actually left off Tim Miles, I don't see him lasting much longer at Nebraska
  6. The most realistic names I've heard thrown around are Paul Weir, Ryan Miller, and King Rice. There's some other more hopeful ones like Crean but that's not happening. Neal being gone does not fix UNM's financial issues and if the buyout wasn't settled they could be even worse. EDIT: There's Thunder Dan too
  7. They've been in talks all day and the next year of his contract was set to kick in at midnight so the move had to be made if there was going to be one. https://www.abqjournal.com/980634/neal-is-out-as-unm-basketball-coach.html
  8. I would sure hope not from The Lobos main beat writer at The Albquerque Journal
  9. What if this is just Mark's most elaborate April Fools plan yet?
  10. Now another TLL poster who I don't know is claiming to have inside info (he started the thread 3 hours ago) that Neal is gone, which seems to match up with Goodman and Mark's latest back track.
  11. There's still questions about the pool of available coaches and what we can afford, but I'm really glad Krebs saw the light on this. This program was heading for a ditch, granted Mark has been all over the place today so I'm worried about getting my hopes up
  12. Whelp Mark is backtracking
  13. It could be something similar to what Alford did last year in LA to try and win back some good will from the locals. Still though, Neal doesn't have Lonzo Ball coming in. Part of me wants to trust the nationally known reporter from ESPN over the message board owner, however the other part of me is inclined to believe the local guy with ties to the program.
  14. A rare thing I agree with this administration on
  15. Only about 7% of the country identifies as atheist or agnostic. If the other 93% only voted one way the Democrats would never pick up a congressional seat.
  16. Even our 2 token local walkons are bolting. I don't know where the hell they're going to go, but even they want off the ship
  17. Everyone needs to settle down, we have the 2 star point guard coming in from New Zealand next year to fix everything. Noodles just needs a couple more years to rebuild and we can get back up to that vaunted 17 win mark again
  18. I'm completely in favor of weed legalization, and think random drug testing at a lot of places is dumb. That said as someone who's friends with a lot of potheads the entitlement some of them show with it is a bit ridiculous. Suggestions like you probably shouldn't go to work high, drive high, or smoke weed in front of your kids are seen as unreasonable reefer madness level suggestions. A buddy of mine got caught smoking weed in his car on his break, and his boss just threatened to fire him but didn't. He acts like was treating unfairly.
  19. Pulisic is far away the best, but it's not just him either. You have guys like Palmer-Brown, Zelalem, Green, Wright, Miazga, Carter-Vickers, Hyndman, Arriola etc, who are all super young too. Lots of good prospects on this team
  20. Obviously you want players to go abroad if they can, but sitting on the bench in Europe or even starting for smaller teams in Europe is no longer better than playing in MLS. Look no further than the first goal scorer last night Sebastian Lletget. The guy spent 6 years rotting at West Ham where he could not ever make the first team. He comes to MLS, and within 2 years completely revitalizes his career and a regular national team contender.
