  1. On campus logo test… https://x.com/sanjosestatefb/status/1764755540897673331?s=46&t=TgW6MmLwY2tuPRsQLFpVow
  2. You're doing a piss poor job of pretending I don't exist. You need to work on that.
  3. And my “career” is relevant to the topic at hand how? That you would even make some snide insinuation like that is, (to be honest), kind of weird. I could be an unemployed janitor or a CEO and it wouldn’t have any bearing on what kind of sports fan I am. You like to portray yourself on this site as the cool Bay Area fan that truly gets it; one that isn’t afraid to tell it like it is. I have no problem with that. It’s your penchant for casting aspersions upon the other Bay Area/SJSU fans because they don’t happen to see things your way that irks people. Myself included. Diehard Bay Area sports fans are no different than fans anywhere else. There may be fewer of them per capita than some other parts of the country, but they’re all the same. That 49er fans (of which I am not one of) can still come off as cocky, despite nearly 30 years after their teams last SB title, is no different than any other fan base that once had a dynastic period in their history. Just spend some time in Dallas, or spend some time with a NY Yankees fan.
  4. It seems not every fan base can reach the pedestal that you’ve placed yourself upon. Your act of being the perfect, beyond reproach, sports fan is tiresome.
  5. Translation: Bay Area fans are just like fans everywhere else in America.
  6. HC Ken Niumatalolo comes through, replacing the last minute flip of RB Cincere Rhaney to San Diego State, with a commitment from an even higher rated RB. 3-star (.8833 composite) Lamar Radcliffe (6-2 / 225) from Sacramento HS. Held offers from Arizona, Utah, Cal, and Colorado State.
  7. 2nd Team All MWC D-Lineman Soane Toai, after reportedly visiting the University of Arizona, has withdrawn from the transfer portal, and will remain at San Jose State.
  8. A second transfer QB committed to San Jose State today. Emmett Brown from Washington State.
  9. Doesn't look like Jayden de Laura is in San Jose State's plans at all. They just received a commitment from CCSF and former Sac St QB Dorian Hale (originally from De La Salle HS).
  10. I totally get where you're coming from. For the life of me, I can't understand how people can support a man that committed a sexual assault for POTUS; civil case or not. It's possible Coach KN will pass on de Laura. I'm just reporting what's out there in the rumor wind.
  11. I never said it did. I simply corrected the statement by another that de Laura was a "convicted rapist".
  12. He's not a "convicted rapist". He settled a civil case for a sexual assault that occurred back in 2018 when he was still in HS. While that is obviously abhorrent, and should be considered as a potential red flag, and also be factored into any schools decision to accept him as a transfer student-athlete, he legal status is such that he has not been convicted of any crime. It's a bit like Donald Trump, and the civil case ruling in NY that found him libel for a sexual assault. However, Trump lost in court, while de Laura settled. Trump was a full fledged adult at the time of the assault on E. Jean Carroll; while de Laura was still in high school. My own thought is Coach KN is probably going to want to speak with de Laura face-to-face before making a decision one way or another.
  13. That's the question folks are asking after the announcement from Texas State University earlier today that de Laura, who had transferred to Texas State from the University of Arizona, announced that he had withdrawn from Texas State. de Laura was a 4-star rated QB out of St. Louis HS in Honolulu who originally played at Washington State prior to transferring to Arizona. He was injured after starting four games for Arizona last season.. After entering the transfer portal at the conclusion of the this past season, de Laura was recruited to Texas State by their (then) Offensive Coordinator Craig Stutzmann. Stutzmann, however, in just the past two days, left Texas State to become the OC under new HC Ken Niumatalolo at San Jose State. Both Stutzmann and Niumatalolo have close ties to the State of Hawaii. So, the speculation is that de Laura is going to follow Stutzmann to San Jose State. San Jose State recently lost QB recruit Chubba Purdy to the University of Nevada, after Purdy decommitted from San Jose State in the wake of the departure of HC Brent Brennan to Arizona. Niumatalolo made it clear that recruiting a transfer QB was a priority for he and his staff. The starting QB position at San Jose State in 2024 is up for grabs, with two-year starter Chevan Cordeiro (also a grad of St. Louis HS in Honolulu) having graduated. The Spartans currently have another transfer QB, Jay Butterfield from Oregon, on the roster, and redshirt sophomore Tyler Voss, who the previous coaching staff was very high on.
  14. Purely a guess on my part; but I think after seeing who Coach Ken Niumatalolo brought in as his OC (Craig Stutzmann) and heard the pitch about the style of offense they plan to run, Nash decided that his best option with regards to being on the field of play was to remain at SJSU for his final season.
  15. Nick Nash has withdrawn from the portal. Looks like he had a change of heart about leaving. https://x.com/chris_hummer/status/1750270403790995525?s=46&t=TgW6MmLwY2tuPRsQLFpVow
  16. Official announcement has been released. https://sjsuspartans.com/news/2024/01/21/sjsu-selects-ken-niumatalolo-as-head-football-coach
  17. Former Navy HC Ken Niumatalolo https://x.com/mzenitz/status/1748831179682513363?s=46&t=TgW6MmLwY2tuPRsQLFpVow
  18. Nebraska QB Chubba Purdy (Brock’s brother) has committed to San Jose State.
  19. Sad news to hear that the former head coach for both San Jose State and San Diego State Claude Gilbert passed away on January 6th at age 91 of lung cancer. Gilbert was a graduate of Bakersfield High, a Korean War veteran, and played two seasons at San Jose State (1957, 58). He coached at Tulare HS, Shafter HS, Bakersfield HS before becoming the head coach at Southwestern College in 1966. He coached at San Diego State from 1967 until 1980, becoming the Aztecs head coach in 1973. His SDSU teams won two PCAA Championships ('73 & '74), before going independent for two seasons in '76 and '77. Those two San Diego State teams both finished with 10-1 records, and a Top 20 ranking (#19) in 1977. In 1981 he returned to his alma mater, San Jose State, as an assistant to then head coach Jack Elway. Gilbert was named head coach of the Spartans in 1984, and remained in that position until after the 1989 season. His San Jose State teams won two PCAA/Big West championships (1986 and 1987), with both of the those teams finishing with 10-2 records. During his years at San Jose State, his teams developed an intense rivalry with Fresno State, with Gilbert going head to head against legendary Fresno State head coach Jim Sweeney. After leaving San Jose State, Gilbert later coached as an defensive coordinator for the Frankfurt Galaxy (NFL Europe) and spent five seasons (95-99) back at San Diego State as their defensive coordinator. I met the man a couple of times, once while he was the head coach at San Jose State, and later during a return visit. He is a beloved figure for San Jose State football fans,
  20. What’s more relevant? 2011 thru 2023 is far more relevant than 1991 thru 2010. Try and argue otherwise. Heck, 2023 is more relevant than 2022. 42-18 baby. And that it gnaws at you so much makes it all even better. Your obsession with all things SJSU defines the word “pathetic”.
  21. Cherry picking? Please. What is more relevant, the most recent 13 seasons (2011 thru 2023), or any stretch of any number of seasons prior to 2011? It's a fact that over the past 13 seasons your school is 5-6 against the school that you claim is an "embarrassment". And (obtw), as anyone that has regularly visited this board over the years can and have pointed out, it is you that obsesses over San Jose State. This thread, started by you, is proof of that. I truly believe that thoughts of San Jose State, and the Spartans fans that post on this board, swirl around in your head constantly. To be blunt and honest, your obsession is kind of weird. Try and enjoy the holidays, and try not think about 42-18 too much.
  22. Your school has a 5-6 win/loss record against San Jose State since 2011, and didn’t even face the two best San Jose State teams during that most recent time frame in 2012 and 2020. San Jose State fans luv kicking Fresno State’s ass because of the way those victories live inside the heads of Bulldogs fans like yourself. Your post tonight proves that to be true. I’ll sleep well tonight knowing how much that 42-18 beat down continues to rattle around your head.
  23. 42-18 LOL at how you’ve yet to come to terms with that. It’s obviously still rattling around in your head. Thanks for cheering me up tonight.
  24. Kind of a bummer for SJSU to lose Rhaney. But, then again, in 2022, SJSU lost 4-star recruit Hassan Mahasin to SDSU. He never did much for the Aztecs and isn't even at SDSU any longer. He's at a JC. So, one never really knows how these things play out in the long run. San Jose State signed Grambling RB Floyd Chalk IV today, most likely in Rhaney's place. Chalk looks very similar to SJSU's current All-MWC RB Kairee Robinson, and will probably make a bigger impact in 2024 than would have Rhaney as a true freshman. I'll wish Rhaney all the best in his college football career, and root for Floyd Chalk on Saturdays for the next couple of years.
  25. One more transfer commit announced yesterday: WR Treyshun Hurry (6-2 / 180) from Weber State. Played at Paraclete HS, Lancaster, CA. Has three seasons of eligibility.
