  1. 2024 General Election: Trump vs. Biden vs. Kennedy vs. West vs. Stein Polls | RealClearPolling This shows Trump with a lead, as do the English gambling addicts. But..... Trump has like a 43% ceiling in every poll, which won't win the presidency, although to be fair, I think Biden has a low ceiling too. But Kennedy and company aren't going to pull anywhere near the votes that the polls have them at now, so something has to give. Who knows.
  2. Phucking 2001. You are a crazy lefty sonofabitch, but you are a funny guy. It startled my dog because I started laughing out loud at my computer when I read this.
  3. Well shit, that's the million dollar question isn't it? And I don't have a clue what the answer is, which is why I will never scoff at the devout or the atheist.
  4. https://www.britannica.com/place/Terceira-Island I could never leave the States, but I might be talked into 4 months a year in retirement here. Where my kids are entitled to citizenship and my wove has family and it’s her first language
  5. Looks nice. One thing, it shows a population of 10,000, but has a significant skyline in the “panoramic” picture. 10;000 is like Morro Bay, how does it have a significant skyline? I wouldn’t want to live in a resort town myself, visit yes, but not live.
  6. Shit, we are so lucky to live in America in 2024 compare to other places in time or history IMO. I can’t imagine not being an American. but I admit you sparked my curiosity , what is this place in Uruguay you speak of?
  7. Okay, I think the story as told in the article of the OP is very believable and plausible. A lot of the ones that later turn out to be false, have something that doesn't quite fit when the story is orignally laid out. This one isn't like that, I'm inclined to agree. But... I think the bolded sentence is naive. Way too much going on and it's way to early to form that opinion based on that.
  8. Fair enough. I haven't dug into it, and until I do will hold off forming an opinion on the veracity of it. On the rest, I agree with you.
  9. Have you seen the video? We have seen these types of allegations before that turned out to be false. so I'm a little slow to jump on the phuck Idaho train until I see it. 40 witnesses and city officials doing damage control isn't verification of the incident to me. It's 2024, there is video of everything in a public format like that. I'm not saying it didn't happen, but I'd want to let the story play out, or see actual video of it before weighing in.
  10. Seriously? Yah, that's how it works. Not just with blacks either. In any ethnic group it's normal to call each other slurs in your own group, that doesn't mean it's ok for someone outside of your group to use that slur. Should the N word be used so much by prominent blacks in entertainment, I would say, no. But that's a separate issue and has nothing to do with this thread. Regardless, obviously if this happened its utterly indefensible, your post is offensive regardless of the veracity of the allegations of the incident.
  11. @IanforHeisman That bobcat is bigger than the ones I see here
  12. This was friday afternoon, just before the storm came in.
  13. I wouldn't bother, some unpaid college intern is just going to look up a response on chatGPT, copy and paste it to an email response.
  14. The fundraising issue has always been the Achilles heel of the populist version of the GOP. Turns out there was a use for the chamber of commerce in the GOP tent after all
  15. I actually do think Zelinsky needs to be pressured to negotiate, somewhat discretely. But what the Pope did here is pure bullshit. WTF? Pope provokes outrage by saying Ukraine should ‘raise white flag’ and end war with Russia | Pope Francis | The Guardian
  16. What are you talking about? There isn't a new government in Taiwan, the existing ruling party was reelected in a highly contested election. I know you have a worldview that conservatives are bad, and liberals are good. Which I obviously disagree with, but regardless, when you try to extrapolate that to other countries, it doesn't work. Their definition of conservative and liberal is completely different than ours. Taiwan’s ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has achieved a historic feat by securing a third consecutive presidential victory. Despite China’s warnings that their re-election would escalate the risk of conflict, Taiwanese voters stood firm in their support for the DPP. The current Vice President, Lai Ching-te, declared victory, and his two opposition rivals conceded defeat. In his jubilant rally, Lai emphasized that this victory showcased the Taiwanese people’s commitment to democracy, Taiwan revels in its young democracy as president-elect charts fresh course | Taiwan | The Guardian Zackaria is an idiot btw. But he's not wrong that China will most likely attempt something short of an invasion.
  17. It is crazy. Its common in high school for your girlfriend to cheat on you with a girl. Don't remember that being a common occurrence in my generation. I think the pendulum will shift and many gen z lesbians will become married hetero moms when they get older. Just like a lot of hippies did in the boomer era. It is weird and obviously not a sustainable pattern. #freebob
  18. This was pure gold. Strippers, hairdressers, girls named Tiffany......
  19. Biden won’t be alive in four years
  20. lol at Fee Bob Convert makes me laugh. That’s good stuff
  21. I'm usually a light touch editor, but this one I liked the composition, but it was too dark and I'm too short so I had to crop quite a bit,, so I decided to be creative with it.
  22. AI Is the Biggest Threat to Google (and Alphabet) Right Now, not Its Biggest Catalyst | The Motley Fool My sister is an antitrust lawyer and worked on the DOJ's Alphabet case for years. She never would tell me much about it because of department policy. There is a lot of irony here, MS was at war with the government for years over Netscape Navigator, as well as their OS monopoly. Google search eventually made the browser case irrelevant, because the dominant search engine became Google. Google search became a monopoly, which eventually caused the DOJ to act. Now AI (especially MS application of it) is a threat to Alphabet's core business and chief revenue generator. MS monopoly in computer OS became irrelevant with the rise of mobile OS. Windows real competition isn't MAC, it's Android and IOS. Antitrust enforcement is important to maintain a healthy capitalist economy, but it seems like in tech, the issue is always moot by the time the government and the company reach resolution.
  23. You seriously think giving a homeless guy a check for 9 grand is going to accomplish anything?
  24. I stopped by the store to pick up some beer on the way home today. Saw a homeless guy asleep and shivering laying against the wall. I dropped off some Nutter Butters for him as I walked out the store on my way to the car. I tried but couldn't wake him up, his body is completely broken down from drugs and exposure, he will be dead within a year. I guess I agree with ECA, although it just seems so intractable, I don't have any confidence in our ability to solve it. Homeless INC isn't working, but I don't claim to have the answers.
