  1. I do hope you understand the vast situational and geographic differences between Fargo and Honolulu.
  2. I’ve been an advocate for expansion, but not because of markets. If North Dakota St. weren’t a bazillion miles from the rest of the conference, I’d probably be advocating them, too.
  3. Just have to have a round robin in conference play or divisions.
  4. I don’t share your fatalism. I do believe next moves made will have a big impact.
  5. For those mentioning Gonzaga and Wichita St: if we add Oly-only members, it’ll need to be an odd number. Maybe Zags, Wichita St., and St. Mary’s, for 14?
  6. Now…SMU, Tulsa, UTSA, Memphis (or a 4th from Texas). Here we go. I still think we need to expand. I wouldn’t be opposed to going SMU, UTSA, Army, Navy, either.
  7. Especially with Sandoval now school Prez for Nevada, I absolutely believe Nevada and UNLV are a block going forward. I also think it’s interesting that Norvell wants Boise St to be a 2nd annual rivalry game for us. I don’t disagree in the slightest.
  8. Be morons and do nothing. There are a few vocal members in opposition to expansion, I’m going to start being a vocal member in support. need at least 2 possibly 4. Get into Texas.
  9. I’m sure there are plenty of tweets coming out today from this guy that will be posted by others, but this caught my eye.
  10. Multiple journalistic outlets (including The Athletic) have reported otherwise.
  11. The next step in the “let’s make this all legal and official” process.
  12. In that same group of tweets, he mentions it’s all contingent upon the Remaining 8 holding together. Which means if WVU/Kansas leaves, everything alters again.
  13. Fun fact about the P4 conspiracy: it involves 65 teams, not 64. Who gets left out?
  14. So you’re saying this will play out so catastrophically for Nevada that our football program will regress potentially to the point of folding?
  15. To be clear, I don’t find this a likely outcome. I do, however, find it more likely than some wildness being thrown around like the Big Ten going to 20.
  16. If West Virginia finally has the votes to enter the ACC, that’s 7. Then, who does the Big Ten take? That could put the Big 12 at 5 (or 3, if you believe MHver3).
  17. Its not about leverage over the Big 12. It’s about whether conferences like the B1G REALLY want to go to 20+, and TV partners getting antsy over programming inventory.
  18. Right on cue, word comes out that Fox Sports is getting antsy re their CFB inventory. It’s MHver3, but this would be the Mountain West’s opportunity if leadership can play it right.
  19. Not sure of who this guy is or who his source is, but if true…
  20. This is the basic outcome. The TV partners help the leftovers find landing spots with financial “wheel greasing.” Call it what you will. The AAC (and ESPN) will want a say, as well. We’ll see who wins.
  21. Apparently I’m not. I’m willing to consider the possibility based on various scenarios and the fact that both conferences are now Fox Sports properties. If the ACC and Big Ten expand using Big 12 schools, all bets are off.
