Alford expressed interest in the OSU job but OSU did not reciprocate. Basically sent up a distress flare. Pitino was interviewed but not offered, well known in ABQ his wife wants out. Seems like he will take if offered
-
His assistant, PoS Neal, used similar rumors to secure an undeserved extension. Tellingly, rumor is about Alford showing interest, not the opposite, none of any programs chasing Alford. Perhaps Stevie feeling unloved after the Tourney collapse?

Colorado State vs Texas, Thursday, TNT, 4:50pm MDT

Not sure why every CSU player thought they were Steph Curry. Cartier and Steven's were shrinking pssys with Cartier scared of going to the rim and Steven's completely pushed off of running the offense, no toughness. -
Nevada vs Dayton, Thursday, TBS 1:30

IMO Nevada will improve without Blackshear, great talent but no leadership or grit. -
UNLV needs to realize Whaley can dominate, dude is a stud. Feed that beast!
-
Whaley destroying Princeton. Is it too easy to just feed him the ball every time twenty more times and take the 20 point win
-
UNLV should be blowing out these preppies, time to send Thad and Chad home

I'm confident that if the Lobos that swept through the MWT show up to Memphis (pass the ball inside out, attack the paint, play a scrambling D), we will win. Just watched the third place ACC team get destroyed by the MW 5th place team....Clemson is 6th in the ACC....this is not the ACC of my youth.

Improving The NCAA Tourney Selection Process
mikexom replied to Nevada Convert's topic in MWC Sports Forum
Some thoughts: Clearly Q1 is not Q1, there are original or real Q1 (P5 schools) and there are counterfeit Q1's (schools that beat schools that beat real Q1's) that may or may not be counted. By adopting this approach, (since mid-majors struggle to schedule "real" Q1's, the non P5 schools are mostly doomed to be high seeds with tough paths to the second weekend. So, P5's can get a firsthand look (either early in the season in home games or late in the season as first round fodder) at the mid-major talent, and then pick them off during the off season, dooming mid-majors to constantly be developing new talent (likely being easy home games for P5's early in the season) or as high seeds NCAAT fodder in generally home games against the blue bloods. The whole system is aligning (especially with NIL and easy transfer rules) to formalizing the mid-major farm team to the P5 major league team model. Next iteration will be a feeder tournament where none P5 schools spend a week of back to back games in a Survivor Island for the "opportunity" to enter 20 teams into the NCAAT (on overnight travel) to play the real Q1 teams. -
Improving The NCAA Tourney Selection Process
mikexom replied to Nevada Convert's topic in MWC Sports Forum
Committee opinion is clear that only Q1 victories against P5 Q1 or Creighton and Gonzaga are actually Q1 victories. Laddering your NET by beating conference teams that got "real" Q1 victories won't be counted. Additional to this (specific to UNM), the AFA loss was considered but the 4 conference tournament wins in 4 days against the top MW teams was not considered. Message there is that beating teams that are "locked" in a conference tournament is not as big of a deal as beating those same teams during the conference season. None of this is fair, its clear there is an East Coast/ESPN familiarity bias that discounts conference victories on FS1/FS2/CBSSN, so MWC is playing on the Ocho and none of the Committee members have that cable package. -
They are the only lock out of the MWC, everybody else is at large
-
different rules when you cross the Mississippi, per Lunardi, bad losses dont count or any for that matter, just being East Coast is enoubh

Ledee shoves Amzil into the Aztec driver and Amzil gets the foul. Ledee is a shit player

#6 New Mexico Vs. #7 Colorado State MWCT

Lunardi saying that UNM must win the Nattie to be a lock to get into the Big Dance. By contrast, Providence gets in if they make more than 75% of their pregame warmup layups. -

Lobo frustrated Rams by not biting on pump fakes and keeping their feet on D, really bothered them. On O, Lobos just drove relentlessly. -

Did it in 5 vs Kareem in 3...more games per season as well -
Lobos played better without Mashburn, actually played 5 on 5 D and made more passes, spread the ball and got better shots. House helping off Brown was a huge mistake but a result of Pitino letting our 2 NBA ballboys do whatever the hell they wanted to do all season. Alford wins the MWC title with this Lobo team. JrPitino has more Weir than Alford in him.

Qwebb providing some great size and strength up top, really helped bottle up USU. Is Pitino high and forgot he forgot his bench?
-
Aztecs miss Mensa a lot...Ledee is an undersized post without much help inside.
-
Shaq did his work with his lower body, Ledee with shoves to the back, hooks, and camping trips in the lane. Gets away with it

Danny Sprinkle to Washington rumors getting loud

With rum -
Come NCAAT time, SDSU will get refs that aren't used to letting Ledee push and shoulder and he will either foul out or be rendered ineffective.
-
Sorry not sorry Asstecs. Normally I'd cheer anyone against little Leon but it feels good to watch Ledee go down despite all the shit he gets away with. Felt better when UNLV did it though

USU about to nosedive similar to UNM vs Harvard after word got out on Alford leaving to UCLA. And worse, he left his drunk pal behind in Albuquerque -
1-3-1 had SDSU hesitant as the Ledee was covered up and nobody wanted the ball in OT. Ledee seemed exhausted
