  1. I would love to do a Votr poll on this but I am a tad bit craptastic re all that. Nonetheless, I will give it a shot one way or another tapping my inner Blondie one way or another. CCG Weekend upcoming Cantankerous ish, in ESPN game play order, mostly on Saturday except for the first two Friday games. New Mexico State & undefeated Liberty. Honestly, who woudda knew re NMSU fine gridiron success? It is the CUSA title, and that goes to Liberty. BTW, Delaware is elevating to CUSA next year. Great props to NMSU for their gridiron success this year. Oregon & Washington. Barn burner game for the PAC title. Tossup leaning Washington. Texas & Oklahoma State. yawn. Texas by a relative landslide. Final few side XII title crown for Texas. Miami of Ohio & Toledo. hmm...prolly the Rockets but I have some peeps outta the other Miami and I want her (I mean them) to get it. Boise & UNLV. Rebs without qualification. Georgia & Alabama. Georgia easy side SEC title game SMU & the Tulane. Wow, this ones could be very interesting. Very interesting. I am going with Pony for the upset ish in AAC land. Appy State and Troy for the Sunbelt. abstain. Michigan & Iowa. This may be more difficult for Michigan than Ohio State. Nah, not really. Michigan. Louisville and Florida State. Florida State but I may or may not be surprised by another Ville 4th quarter miracle, which did not happen last weekend v rival Kentucky.
  2. The better metric is this, sports media watch data re the gridiron. Let us see who crows the best and least about this. The Data Reveals for Every Week good, bad, or indifferent....
  3. Coog ladies open up with UC Santa Barbara. However, it is a difficult bracket. BYU, Texas, SMU in It. We lost to BYU and Texas. 5 Texas-based squads going to Palo Alto. (Texas State and A&M come along too).
  4. gaucho and I posting same time...lols..ish. Thx gaucho.
  5. Shoot, forgot to mention. Aranda at Baylor may be on the chopping block. However, probably not. It is just minor scuttlebutt re the latest Texas College Football rankings published this morning. Not unlike what DCTF does every Monday. RSF and masterfrog know DCTF. Scuttlebutt re Aranda, passive
  6. The good news is that both FCS transitioning squads 2nd year James Madison and Jacksonville State get to go bowling. They both deserve to do so. Especially James Madison. Minnesota pulled off a Rice of last year with very high academic cred rating. Fortunately, Rice made it on their own this year in the AAC with a 6-6 split. p.s. Texas-based Sam Houston is also transitioning from FCS to FBS but they be like 3-9 or so.
  7. Elko to A&M. My Aggy buddies wanted either him or the interim HC. p.s. re this topic. Thursday last, Aggy BOR first went with Stoops outta Kentucky. The Aggy fans wanted nothing to do with Stoops of Kentucky and lit up social media once that was leaked. Elko is the right choice for Texas A&M, IMO. He is a very fine DC. On the OC side of the ball for Texas A&M, they have wonderful, storied Bobby Petrino. Who knows re Aggy gridiron, one of these days they may actually win the SEC title. Hope springs eternal.
  8. Really, Aggy went with Elko outta Duke? No surprise there if this is a presser. Elko was at Aggy before. You bet your donuts to dollars that Elko will get an incentive-based contract and no $1b guarantee like Jimbo. The A&M Board of Regents will see to that. Just like the UH Board of Regents willl do with our Newby football HC. Highly incentive based. Win based incentives and whatnot. The next UH football HC will be contracted very unlike the Hoops Sampson family is. Kelvin and son Kellen are locked up good and tight for a long while. As they should be.
  9. Mod help pls. This is a double topic. Pls delete this ones. Thx in advance.
  10. Shoot, my bad. I posted the same thing re Jerry Palm. However, there are different sources with some more spicier things. After CCG weekend everything will be revealed and we all go from there. Apologies for double posting the same topic. My bad.
  11. Depending on the source, it kinda goes in several different directions. Let's go with Palm outta CBS Sports first. He is semi-reliable.   In MWC date order earlier to later: New Mexico Bowl in the ABQ: Boise v. New Mexico State...definite popcorn bag watchable and enjoyable. NMSU gets it. LA Bowl: UNLY and UCLA...popcorn and candy.. Yum. UCLA, but not easy peasy. Potato Bowl: MAC v. Wyoming...Wyoming. Hawai'i Bowl: Utah State v. Old Dominion. Utah State. First Responder: Fly v. Appalachia. abstain. Arizona Bowl: Fresno v. Miami of Ohio. MAC win. oops, Birmingham Bowl too...San Jose v. Georgia State. Spartans, easy.
  12. 106 is too generous re My Squad, warbly. Nonetheless we are not Akron, Louisiana Monroe, Nevada, East Carolina. We somehow have more than 2 wins. Lucky stuff our side West Virginia and Baylor.
  13. Well that didn't take long for Holgersh*t to be fired. Up next, our choice of fantastic Willie Fritz outta the Tulane, Jeff Traylor outta UTSA, or long shot KK OC USC (nope). It will be Traylor.
  14. The Creighton win did it. That and more. 15. Wow. According to well-regarded CBS Sports, Rams are now #16,. Here It Is
  16. Dude, SWC days. Legacy member. Way before Utah got elated to PAC dom. UH won 4 SWC titles in football to the Cotton Bowl during our brief time there. Pls do not lecture me, dude.
  17. Liberty is #25 methinks. No offense to Liberty at all. However, really biased against them re their sked. A CUSA squad.
  18. For future MWC matters itself, once all of the PAC legal matters settle up in court and MWC assimilates into the PAC brand, then there is all of that re 2024 forward 12-team playoff with certain CCG champs getting byes and whatnot.
  19. Liberty really? Yes, they are defeated but not high enough to do so re NY6. In the end, re NY6 Go To matters, it will be all about what happens in New Orleans next Saturday. SMU or the Tulane.
  20. Regarding AAC matters, who in the would have ever guessed this? Ya, we all knew the Tulane is formidable and great. They knocked off UTSA in New Orleans with studly QB Pratt vs. 7-th year UTSA QB Frank Harris. SMU is now coming out of the woodwork so to say. SMU pasted Navy by like 60 - something. I honestly thought it would really be the Tulane vs. Memphis in the final AAC end re who plays who in not-round-robin AAC CCG play It is now the Tulane vs. SMU in New Orleans Saturday next. ACC-bound SMU at the Tulane. I am definitely watching that mess. SMU is going places (they already have re ACC bound), but to get past the Tulane for the G5 rep to NY6 matters..popcorn grab bag. The MWC almost made it to the G5 rep to the post season. Air Force was supposed to do it along the way. Then Fresno. Then UNLV. Nope, It will come down to the AAC champ. the Tulane does it again over SMU next weekend.
  21. final comment re XII junks and whatnot. Utah will find out the hard way that Kansas State and Kansas have political controlling interests in XII post Texas and Oklahoma departure. Welcome to plainslands middle America. The four Texas squads (Tech, Baylor, TCU, Houston) have little influence at all. It is what it is, until it is not.
  22. OTOH, my squad has a wonderful OOC gridiron homey/homey with UNLV, upcoming. And a one-off with Boise, sometime. I enjoy playing matchups anything west of the Mississippi River. And that especially means MWC, now that PAC is total toast until Re-Imagined. As mentioned, prior to XII Reformed, we had homey/homey with Utah and Colorado all lined up. I would like to play MWC squads in sports comprehensive re football, hoops, baseball. (abstain re conventional ladies sports, but that can work too). The new quasi rules in XII land gridiron are a bit restrictive re OOC. We have to play a fellow Power Whatever squad, a low-lying FCS squad, and a highly congenial FBS squad. I do not agree with these quasi restrictions at all. Why be forced to play a FCS squad? We are not the SEC, not one iota. No low-lying fruit purported mandate. Play peers. And IMO, playing anyone in the MWC is peer-to-peer. Others may disagree re all this. I want future homies-homies with Wyoming, Air Force, and Colorado State. For starters... p.s. re these new XII rules unfolding re Power Squads, we have Oklahoma and LSU booked up. Oy.
