  1. Calford announced yesterday that they will have a decision on what they’re going to do in two weeks. That means they’re probably going independent.
  2. The only reason a market matters is ratings. If you suck in football like Rice does, you don’t get any market penetration and ratings suck. Rice’s ratings are hilarious, and they’re an extremely stupid candidate unless your Calford and academics are a huge deal. That’s why a conference is doomed when they are driving the bus.
  3. You’re a waste of time. Google it yourself, lefty hack boy.
  4. Damn, It really sucks for the other 3 G5’s on yearly TV deal money. $650k MAC $500k Sun Belt $400k CUSA
  5. Yeah the 12 schools owe Comcast $50 mil, so each school owes $4 mil and change regardless of where they go.
  6. I think it’s a moot point because I think Stanford is preparing to go independent. It’ll buy them time to get picked up by a power conference. They’re probably getting Indy deal quotes right now.
  7. Stanford will go independent before they join the MWC or the AAC.
  8. Fresno and Boise will never ever ever be in the same conference as Stanford. It will never happen.
  9. I’m completely full of shit & I’m completely full of shit.
  10. If Fresno or Boise gets an invite with Calford in charge, I’ll grow a Mohawk and start doing heroin. There is zero chance that the PUNK-4 get more than $10 mil in any scenario of G5’s. Zero chance. And without schools like Boise, $10 mil will never happen.
  11. So far, Gloria has done nothing but aggressively put the screws to SDSU when they’ve tried to leave, and SDSU has gotten nothing but schooled. If they haven’t learned their lesson, good luck to them, because they will get schooled again.
  12. You don’t have to sign a contract for a contract to be valid and enforceable. If you verbally agree in a meeting and there’s meeting minutes and witnesses, it’s just as enforceable. Even if there isn’t that, if you carried out business that clearly shows you support the exit fee over a reasonable period of time, you’re also on the hook. That’s business law 101, baby. And Boise will never get an invite, so it doesn’t matter.
  13. I could care less what Wilner thinks. He’s clueless. I don’t know why some people think he’s so great.
  14. Who says ESPN wants out? $7 mil per school does seem like a bit too much for mostly ESPN+ and ESPN3 shit, but they have about another 8 years to go, and the way inflation has been going the last few years, the backend could be a steal.
  15. Dude, GK ain’t perfect, but the PAC breaking up isn’t his fault. The PAC presidents and Larry Scott own it.
  16. Not happening anytime soon, but you have to market and spin your conference because your competition is doing it.
  17. The attendance and local population charts are a complete worthless steaming pile of shit. You have to be epic stupid to use what a school reports as its attendance with no standard reporting criteria, and no third party to verify it. Solution: At 4 minutes left in the 1st half, require all schools to take a drone shot at the center 50 yard line as high as it needs to be to capture the crowd. Then everyone using the same counting software generates their results and reports them. NCAA audits will occur with monster huge fines and other discipline for cheating. The “local” population is a joke. Claiming that Oregon St. has a 1.2 million local population is pure comedy. What defines a local population? There needs to be a standard. And you have schools like SJSU in a 6.5 mil market, but probably get less than 1 percent of it. What is the school’s market penetration in these markets? How are you going to have actual ESPN ratings to use for each school to compare when some don’t play on ESPN very often? Ratings are determined by consumers watching a match up of two teams playing. How are they determining the divide-up of ratings of the two schools? Opposing teams can make you look good or bad on the game rating. Is Stanford using Notre Dame game ratings to make them look good? How did they objectively determine individual school TV ratings? What is the standard criteria used on judging academics and athletics? Why are they only using 1 season to analyze this? Regarding overall athletic and FB budgets, why just one year? Who’s trending up, who’s trending down, which AD’s have publicly stated they’re in the process of cutting budget and who’s committed to boosting them? The Calford are supposed to be elitist intellectuals, yet they come up with a marketing analysis that’s not worth the paper it’s printed on. I do have a BS degree in Marketing at SDSU by the way.
  18. WTF? Calford has doubled and tripled down on their illogical academic elitist snobbery since being the PAC-4. I have no idea what news you’re reading if you think that. They’re all over the map. It’s impossible for them to get everything they want, but academics at the top. It’s clear that they primarily see this as their criteria ranked by importance. 1. Academics 2. Market/Ratings 3. Performance history Example: Rice is great in academics. Check. Rice is in a good market (Houston), but they suck, and their performance isn’t good, so rating’s suck. Rice is a terrible candidate.
  19. Honestly, @grandjean87 is just like the hardcore Trump supporters that don’t want to see ‘plain as day’ evidence that interferes with what they want to be true. Trump and Biden both seriously suck, and for some reason, Teams folks don’t see that both can be bad at the same time.
  20. Fresno and Boise have as good a chance of getting an invite to the NFL as they do an invite from CAL and Stanford. If you don’t agree with that fact, you’re not comprehending (or don’t want to comprehend) the magnitude of the elite snobbery that exists with those two. You don’t agree to disagree that Notre Dame will never play a game at Fresno St., Nevada, Boise, SDSU or Eastern Washington. It’s just a fact that their away game menu is snobbishly limited. Disagreeing with basic facts like that is why the word ‘delusional’ was added to the English language.
  21. If it’s Apple, having to pay for the production costs and be responsible for the production, and never or rarely being on national TV make it worse than the MWC.
