  1. It’s definitely small, but it’s not tiny like he was saying.
  2. The valley has a population of 35,000 to 40,000. It’s not a tiny place. If you want to see a tiny place, go check out an MRI of your brain, buttercup.
  3. Dude, you said it’s too fricken hot for homeless, but Vegas is hotter than Ridgecrest and Vegas has homeless all over the place. There’s no homeless in RC because if anyone has a drug, alcohol or mental issue problem that causes them to crash, the churches and other support groups help them. Because people come to make good money and a lot of them are able to keep their shit together, the people that crash are small in number and can be helped. Desert Fever? In my entire life, I have never heard of anyone getting desert fever in RC. Now you’re going full drama queen. Fresno? LOL. Now I sure have heard of lots of innocent people getting gunned down by gang shootings in Fresno. Safe place.
  4. With all due respect, you are not a desert rat. If a late afternoon dust storm in the spring or some moderate desert heat is too much for you, then you’re not a desert guy. Vegas is about 6 or 7 degrees hotter in the afternoon, and Phoenix is a lot, lot hotter. At night it gets about 8 to 10 degrees cooler than Vegas. In the spring, the desert gets wild flowers and some green, as well. And no, many people leave after HS to go to college, go work in the big city, and eventually come back to work on base because they got tired of the big city traffic, crime, smog, high cost of living, shitty schools, etc. In about 25 minutes you can be in the pines, beautiful Lake Isabela and Alta Ski area is only about 45 minutes away, Mammoth Mtn is just right up to the road, LA is only a couple hours south, Vegas isn’t far, etc. If you need to do errands, you can get so much done quick. It’ll take you a max of 5 minutes to get to Home Depot, Walmart Supercenter is only a few minutes from there, actual FedEx and UPS shipping centers only a few minutes from there, a Chipotle only a few minutes from there, etc. If you see a car commercial with mountains behind it, 95% of the time it’s Owens Peak on the left and surrounding mountains. The Inyokern Airport has a special runway for car commercials. Tom Cruise’s man cave aircraft hanger in Top Gun Maverick is also at the airport.
  5. Why are you always wrong? That was in Barstow. Pay attention Dr. Doogie. You think what I wore in the mid-80’s bothers me? You need to figure out some actual smack. Remember the time you claimed that CA wasn’t run by Democrats in Sacramento and then doubled and tripled down on that? Now THAT was funny. Almost as bad as Jackwabbit tripling down on a chick swimmer being a man.
  6. LOL, You don’t know anything about Ridgecrest. You know why we’ve never had gangs or much crime? Because over half the population are scientists, chemists, engineers, techs, etc. that develop weapon systems and their family members. The only reason Ridgecrest exists is to support the base next door. The air is clean, water pure, no traffic.
  7. Top onion producing counties in CA. Fresno County is right at the top. Fresno County looks like a very disturbed looking dog bone. According to the American Lung Association, the Fresno area has the dirtiest air in the United States. From May through September, it’s an average of almost 50% humidity. That’s miserable and not a dry heat. A dry heat is under 20%. The high desert and Vegas get down low to mid single digits. That’s a dry heat. Fresno:
  8. Dry heat! LOL, that’s a bunch of bullshit. I’ve been in and out of Fresno and Bakersfield my whole life. I just grew up over the mountains to the east.
  9. There’s nothing like hot, humid, smoggy air smelling of onions with a sprinkling of gun shots going off in the background. The air is so dirty that you can’t see any mountains, so you feel like you’re in central Kansas.
  10. Well, there’s your problem. Your AD’s name is Terry, not Frank.
  11. Are you guys going to win your first 10 cupcake games, then finish 9-13 and get another CBI invite again? Actually, I doubt CBI actually sent you an invite last year.
  12. In 2026 it ends for sure going forward on the next TV deal. For the remaining seasons on the current deal, not sure. She didn’t say. It probably stays because it was probably agreed upon for the entire contract. But you never know, maybe the MWC has discretion to adjust it if new members are added.
  13. Not a lot of big takeaways, except: 1. She’s firm on the $17 mil and $34 mil exit fees. 2. She knows just about all the decision makers of the PAC-4 well. 3. She thinks the MWC being at 14 or 16 schools (with 2 to 4 of the right added schools) to be the sweet spot right now. 4. Very open to taking Olympic Sports only members. 5. Our TV deal allows us to open up the deal when adding new members and can add them as pro-rata or negotiated at a higher than pro-rata amount.
  14. I’ll bet he’s a beaver retriever with all his fame.
  15. Well, when you have a lot of powerful influencers like Notre Dame, Condie Rice, etc. working hard behind the scenes, you never know what can be worked out.
  16. Oh come on. Everything will be alright. Be positive! I’ll bet your breath isn’t even that bad.
  17. Perhaps you can do a Masterclass for us on being right, Dr. Doogie Doolittle. MHver3 is saying the same thing as Wilner.
  18. Dude, especially in a group that small, hard votes are just for official business. Straw votes are taken and then the discussion gets more serious. You don’t waste time on a hard vote unless you know you have the votes to get something done.
  19. Then why would they say they’re going to announce their big decision in two weeks when they won’t have one? That makes them look stupid, that they don’t have their shit together and hurt their credibility??? They’re the one that’s putting a deadline on themselves. I’m assuming they’re not lying. I’m betting they’re smarter than that. So if they’re not lying and will have an announcement, it’s either going to be: Option #1. They’re staying in the PAC-4 for 2024 Option #2. They’re going Indy for 2024 Both options require a lot of work that has to start right away. Option #1: Stanford will still have to have the other 3 on board with this. And they will have to play themselves a lot in all sports, and schedule as many OOC games as they can. That’s a lot of work. If the other 3 choose to do something else, this option is dead. Option #2: Going Indy allows them to avoid working with the other 3, but creates more scheduling time for FB & BB and time required for placing their Olympic sports. They may have already gotten an Indy quote for FB and BB, or are extreme close. Maybe I’m missing something, but ??? Where am I going wrong?
